The Ideal Sitter for this Job

Are you looking for a mix of child care and household management; solo work and work with kids?! This is a great opportunity to beef up those admin type skills and let your organization and supportive nature shine! The family is very transparent about what they need and what has always worked best for them and it's those who are helpful, easy going, willing to pitch in, and ultimately want to help in any way they can to make their world keep turning. They certainly aren't looking for a housekeeper or someone who is quiet and in the background, but someone who really joins their team and embraces the helping aspect of this kind of role. Someone who is organized and mindful, has a keen eye for detail, and is willing to go a bit outside of the box to help at times, but always within reason. Are you warm, loving, proactive, fun, and experienced with these two age groups? Fantastic! The girls are super lovely and pretty well behaved. They love to connect with their nannies and make great friends with them. The parents also embrace this person as their own and often grow close to them. They realize they might ask a bit more than a typical part-time role, but they also acknowledge that this person really allows them the space to work full-time in jobs they live, while providing their girls with love and support every day! Being reliable and timely is an absolute must! They are looking for someone who can keep the weeks running smoothly, and tackle any challenges head on and in an organized way. That said, organization, team work, communication, and an open and bright attitude is a must! For meals, the family is more than happy to share their staples which are all really simple and easy to prepare vegetarian meals. Someone overall somewhat flexible with an easy going attitude and a supportive nature is best. They can be flexible with their person as well to make it a truly successful relationship. Finally, someone who is generally really happy and willing to jump in to help as needed and truly be a second hand to the parents who are busy and working FT is paramount! A driver's license and clean driving record is required, and having your own car is a huge plus!

Schedule

The core schedule is 12-7/8 PM, Monday to Friday. Flexibility to assist in the evenings or with full days for school holidays and the occasional sick day for the girls would be a huge plus! They are happy to guarantee 35-40 hours/week!

About the Children

girl, 9- She is so easy going and fun. She is a delight and a really wonderful kid. She is friendly, creative, and outgoing. She gets along with nearly everyone she meets! girl, 5- She is a fun kid, but more cautious than her sister. She takes more time to adjust and warm up to new people, but is a really sweet kid. They may have a bit of time adjusting to their new city and routine after moving in July.

Responsibilities

Arriving early in the afternoons to help with the household management she of things for the family. The nanny will help with the meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal prep for the family. They are vegetarian and have a whole rotation of meals they're happy to show you, but they'd love someone who is comfortable in the kitchen and can add new recipes into the mix as well! The nanny would also utilize this time to help with the family's laundry and keeping things tidy (they have a housekeeper who does the deep clean once/week), help take the dog out (and encouraging the girls after school and when they are home to do this, too), keeping track of the household supplies, and running local errands for the family like. FedEx drop off, Walgreen's run, dry cleaning pick up and drop off, etc. The nanny will then pick the girls up from school in Germantown and take them to activities, the park, or bring them home to do homework and play. In the afternoon, the sitter will take care of school pick up, take them to activities or the park, organize playdates, give them a snack, give them both meals at the end of the day, occasionally help with bedtime and baths. The older girl is likely to have more homework so some homework support is paramount as she gets older. Occasionally, the nanny will help with full days if they are out of school or come early to help get the children ready for the day, give them breakfast, and tidy up before leaving. They will be able to give notice for this. Overall the sitter will help both children with their developmental milestones and share those with the parents. They are a super communicative and really straight forward family. They love to welcome in their nannies as family and have great experiences with their nannies.

Additional Information
