Are you looking for a weekend position with a fantastic family? Are you a seasoned traveler and look forward to spending time in new places outside the city? We have the gig for you! A returning SmartSitting family is looking for a team player to join them on the weekends both on the UES when they are in town, and in the Hudson Valley then they go to their second home. The SmartSitter would spend time with their three children, ages 10, 7 and 4, and often alongside their weekday SmartSitter or one or both of the parents on weekends. The family's ideal sitter is someone who can juggle being warm and loving while maintaining boundaries with the kids, and will really engage with them. The kids have a full-time nanny and after school SmartSitter during the week as well, so someone who's comfortable coordinating and working alongside others is a huge plus! The schedule is Friday to Sunday. The family will be ubering their nanny home at the end the night if I town, and on weekends, they would travel up and back with the family, or have their train covered. The guaranteed hours are 30 per week at an hourly rate of $30-35 gross, plus paid and sick time off, some federal holidays off, and an unlimted Metrocard. The Ideal Sitter for this Job

Are you fun and engaging, but know how to maintain a boundary, especially when a child pushes? The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is kind and loving, but can maintain the rules and strategies with the kids. They may at times attempt to ask for things they can't have (they know what they are doing), so being comfortable saying no when appropriate is ideal. It's particularly important with the oldest two who are smart kids! Are you city savvy? Do you have a high level of emotional intelligence when it comes to working with kids? Does connecting with most kids stand at the top of your priority list in new relationships? The family is looking for a city-savvy candidate with high emotional intelligence who can engage and bond with their children. Someone who really wants to get to know the kids and play with them. They would love someone super communicative, who is unflappable, yet flexible since there are three and they try to work as a team. Are you tidy and mindful of the space around you? Even better! Someone tidy and organized who can really have fun with the kids, but cleans up after themselves and is mindful of the space is a huge plus. They'd also love for someone to get the kids involved in this as they are older now.

Schedule

The core schedule for this position is Friday from 3 - 10 PM, Saturday from 8/9 AM to 10 PM, and Sunday from 8/9 AM - 9 PM. They are happy to guarantee 30 hours/week!

About the Children

Boy, 10- He's playing flag football and is really into golf. He loves video games. He is at times challenging in terms of his behavior and needs a person who can hold a good boundary with him. Girl, 7- She is a sweet girl. She is super into the performing arts. She loves singing, dancing. and choreography. She is always putting on a show! She has always been super social and outgoing. She loves to be in the mix and be around people. Boy, 3 - He is climbing everywhere and is very, very active! A typical toddler who loves to play.he is quite lovable and smiley.

Responsibilities

If in the city, the position is live out, with the SmartSitter arriving each day to help with the kids' routines. During the week, they'd work alongside the after school SmartSitter to navigate that routine of school pick up, activities, playdates, homework help, dinner prep, bath time, tidying up after, and staying while they're asleep until mom and dad are home. On Saturdays and Sundays, they'd assist mom and dad with the kids, keeping them active and engaged, taking them to weekend activities, helping with meal prep and tidying up after, baths, bed time, and play. Staying until mom and dad are home from dinner if they go out! They're happy to uber someone home at night since it's late and still offer a monthly metrocard! If going to their second home, you would be driving with the family on Friday night to Silo Ridge in Hudson Valley and staying for the weekend. The responsibilities would be similar as above, but live in up at their place. The family also was very open about how they do their best never to leave one person solo with all three awake kids. They really make an effort to keep it to two awake kids max at all times or having someone else there to help. They get that it can be a lot with their ages being so varied as well! The only time for sure when the person would be alone with all three would be at night, and ideally one is already asleep when mom and dad leave.
