A returning SmartFamily is looking for a part-time nanny for their three kids, ages 10, 8 and 6. All three kids have multiple after school activities, and Mom is in need of a second hand to help out getting to and from! All three children go to the same school on the Upper East Side, so the main responsibility will assisting her with school pick ups and coordinating traveling to activities and getting home for dinner on time. The family would love someone who they can rely on, who can really engage with the children and balance all three's wants and needs. A go with the flow attitude is a must in this family! There is no heavy cleaning or super involved meal prep for this role as they have a housekeeper who primarily does this. There may be some light meal prep like chopping veggies, prepping a salad, or reheating stuff for the kids. Tidying up after and keeping the home in order is paramount! The family is happy to guarantee 20 hours/week guaranteed for $30/hour, plus a Metrocard, and 4-6 weeks/year of PTO. They're looking is looking to start interviewing ASAP. Don't miss out!

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

Do you have experience working alongside other parents or caregivers with multiples? As you'd be working alongside mom and sometimes the housekeeper, having someone who is communicative and flexible is paramount. Someone who knows what the day to day for each kid looks like and can adapt and flex between those responsibilities is so big for this role. The people who will thrive are those who are really easy going and have a go with the flow attitude. The ability to navigate last-minute changes and running around with the kids is a must. Are you creative and have well-rounded interests? The kids are pretty artsy and also interested in science, and music, so aligned interests would be great! They would love someone who can get the kids out and engaged with the fun things in the city! So having an arsenal of activities and ideas of things to do outdoors and in is a big plus! The family's ideal sitter is someone reliable, proactive, smart, and energetic to match the kids. A background in education is preferred.

Schedule

The core schedule for this position is Monday to Friday from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, with flexibility for extra hours. The family is happy to guarantee 20 hours a week.

About the Children

Boy, 10 - He's a typical 10 year old, active and energetic. Girl, 8 - She is super smart and social. Boy, 6 - He is a true force of nature and is really active! All three are at the same school on the Upper East Side.

Responsibilities

The main responsibility for this position is picking the kids up from school on the east side and getting them to their activities or to playdates and the park. The right candidate will feel comfortable working in tandem with Mom to get the kids to all activities and back home for dinner, as well as taking public transit and cars with them to get them across town and back.

Additional Information

The adults are all vaccinated and would prefer to have someone vaccinated and taking the necessary precautions as well while the Delta variant is still an issue in the world.
