FULL TIME NANNY: Bed-Stuy family looking for communicative and experienced sitter for their newborn baby girl (with benefits)
Overview
Do love working with newborns? Do you get excited watching them achieve their developmental milestones? Are you looking to become a key partner with a family as they navigate their new life as parents? Are you super communicative, patient and engaging? A new Bed-Stuy family is looking for a full-time nanny for their infant baby girl. She is Mom and Dad's first child and they are looking for a person to become a key player in their family as they both transition back to work after her birth. They'd love a person who is engaging and genuinely loves working with babies. They're also looking for a person who can be really communicative about the baby and also understanding that this is a big transition for them! It's $25-30/hour gross for 40 hours/week guaranteed, plus PTO, sick time and a possible healthcare stipend! The position will ideally start in December or January.
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
Do you love babies? Are you adaptable, calm and understanding and want to work with Mom and Dad on consistently working together to keep her healthy and engaged? The family is looking for a sitter who has experience with infants and an understanding of the developmental milestones. Someone communicative and enthusiastic about giving updates to mom and dad will be great for this role!
Schedule
Core schedule is: Monday through Friday, 8AM or 9 AM - 5 PM or 6 PM, depending on the nanny's preference. They are happy to guarantee 40 hours/week.
About the Children
Girl, 5 weeks. She'll be 2 to 3-months-old when the position starts! She's not currently on a schedule as her parents are using a baby led approach but they move to a nap routine after she's 2 months.
Responsibilities
She wakes up around 7:30 AM and you would start your day with her shortly after. She's still eating every two to three hours and keeping her fed is important because she's tending to be at the bottom end of her growth curve. In between her naps, when she is alert, you would do tummy time with her, read her a book, or take her on a walk in the stroller to let her observe her surroundings! When she is napping, you would help with her laundry, bottle washing, eventually prepping her meals (when she moves to solids), and helping to tidy up.
Additional Information
Both parents are vaccinated and they are looking for someone vaccinated as well, including Covid, TDAP, and their flu shot. Mom is going back to work PT in Dec and them FT in Jan. She will work from home at least 2 days/week and Dad is often working from home 2-3 days/week.
