PART-TIME: Creative nanny for LIC sweet baby boy!
Overview
This is a super lovely LGBTQIA+ friendly family with a sweet 5-month-old boy based in Long Island City. They are searching for flexible, part-time weekday help so mom can run errands, go to appointments, and pursue occasional acting opportunities. Dad works from home full-time in the tech industry. Position is Monday through Friday, 10 AM - 3 PM, $30-35/hour, and they're flex on healthcare and other benefits depending on what you're looking for. Apply today if you're interested!
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
The family is looking for a non-smoking, CPR-certified candidate who is OK with a cat and has many years of experience with infants and toddlers and/or some kind of formal training in early childhood development or pediatric nursing. A second language is a big plus (the family speaks English and Hebrew in the home and they would love to add more Hebrew or a third language!) Their son was born prematurely, and is now thriving, so they're hoping for someone who has an extra gentle touch and will help guide him toward milestones. It's helpful if you're someone who understands the moment you're in and that you're able to be flexible as needed. Go with the flow of Mom and Dad and not rigid in your approach. The family is doing a more attachment style approach right now and baby led. If you're creative and artsy, this would be a plus but not necessary. Most importantly, it's important that you're comfortable with babies.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 10 AM - 3 PM 25 hours/week guaranteed. If you want 30 hours guaranteed, please apply as the family is flexible!
About the Children
boy, 5 months old! He’s amazing. He was born premature, and he’s now 19 lbs, so he’s doing great! He’s getting really vocal, lots of opinions! He's started rolling, he’s trying to pull up. He’s super special. He had a month of colic. His timing might be off in terms of leaps and milestones because he was premature.
Responsibilities
All the baby things! Come and hanging out with him, taking him on walks, feed him, and get him to take some naps. Washing bottles and tidying up is a huge plus.
Additional Information
It's important that you're Covid vaccinated, and TDAP and Flu shots are also preferred. Both parents are vaccinated. Mom is breastfeeding and may breastfeed and/or provide pumped bottles during care-taking sessions. They are not sleep training and require flexibility in how daytime naps and feeds away from Mom are achieved (they can be a struggle right now—but we are OK with frequent cat naps, stroller naps, etc.). They're looking for someone who is collaborative and open to working with mom and dad to make the days great for their son!
