Overview

Are you an expert in helping children reach their milestones? Do you find potty training a walk in the park? Do you love surrounding yourself with smart children who are curious yet sweet and playful? Are you a storyteller and a book reader? This Smart family in Upper West Side is looking for an energetic, fun and structured nanny that could help them with their children while they work from home. Mom may go back but Dad will continue to work from home. They have a current long-term nanny who is beginning to reduce her full-time schedule and this person will help take on one or two of her days. The kids are bilingual and if you speak Russian (or even French!), they'd love to meet you but they are also happy with English speakers.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

The family is looking for somebody with familiarity with this age already and can assist with potty training, diaper changing and helping them meet their milestones. They also would really prefer somebody who really wants a part time position and a longer-term commitment! If you have other things going on during the week that keep you occupied (school, working in the arts, etc.) mentioning them in your application would be great! They'd love a Russian Speaker! French speakers would be great too but it's not required.

Schedule

Schedule: 9 AM to 7 PM for 1, 1.5, or 2 days/week. Here are three possible schedules they'd be open to: - one day from 9 AM to 7 PM (preferable on Monday or Friday, but they're open) - one day from 9 AM to & PM and one 5-hour day (nanny's choice!) - two days from 9 AM to 7 PM Please list your preference in your application. It would be helpful if one day was Monday or Friday but they are flexible and open to whatever works for the person. They're more focused on finding a right fit and making a longer-term commitment.

About the Children

Boy, 3.5 - Obsessed with dinosaurs. He likes being read to generally. He's also energetic and physically active. He loves soccer and really loves to throw a ball. Girl, 1.5 years old - She likes to pretend that she's talking on the phone. She'll play hide and seek. She is obsessed with her big brother.

Responsibilities

They're a block from central park! You will arrive at 9AM and then head to the park, weather permitting. You'll stay for two or three hours, do lunch at home, and then head back to the park. The kids tend to nap in the stroller. The boy is in school three days a week, so working around this schedule as well if you're there on those days. You'd also keep an eye on the kid's laundry, cook for them, and (this is so helpful) help with the dishes.

Additional Information

They want a fully vaccinated sitter. Parents are vaxxed. Booster preferred.
