Overview

If you're in Connecticut and love to work with infants, this is the position for you! The Mom of this lovely Smart Family used to be a Smart Sitter herself. Now she's looking for an experienced, calm, and nurturing Smart Sitter of her own to spend full days with her infant son. While Mom is going back to work in March, both she and Dad will be working from home. They are looking for a Nanny to start in February to shadow the baby's daily routine before Mom begins to full transition back to work. It's $30 to $35/hour gross for 45 hour/week, which includes 5 hours of overtime, plus Healthcare, PTO & Sick Time.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

Someone who is warm, communicative and down to earth. Mom is looking for an extremely calming personality. They'd love a person who can keep a relaxed atmosphere in the house. Somebody who is comfortable caring for the baby while both Mom and Dad work from home is key! If you have a background in Montessori or Waldorf education, this would be a huge plus but is not required!

Schedule

The core schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. They're happy to guarantee 45 hours/ week including 5 hours of overtime!

About the Children

Boy, 5 months old - He's a good baby!

Responsibilities

You will arrive in the morning and engage the baby in fun, appropriate play time and activities like reading, singing and tummy time! They're looking for a person who can help him achieve those early milestones! The family would love help introducing him to solids when the appropriate time comes. You'll also bathe him from time to time and do all the baby related chores like laundry, bottle cleaning, and occasional errands outside the home. Huge bonus if you'd like to cook and want to cook a meal for the whole family!

Additional Information

They are looking for someone who is vaccinated, ideally boosted. Please confirm you've had a Tdap vaccine or that you'd be willing to get one before the position starts. They're also looking for a person has, or would be willing to get, their flu shot. Please indicate in your application if you have any experience with Waldorf or Montessori education.
