Would you love to explore the Brooklyn Museum, Fort Greene Park, and Prospect Park with one baby girl? Are you an energetic and active sitter who loves to spend your days on play dates and at classes? Are you looking to grow with a family? Do you like working as part of a team, supporting Mom and Dad and learning alongside them? This returning Smart Family is looking for a positive, flexible, energetic, and creative nanny for their sweet, engaging and snuggly almost 1-year-old! Both parents work full-time and are usually out of the house. However, due to COVID, at least one of them may be working from home on any given day. They are mindful of the discomfort this can put on caregivers and try to stay out of sight! They also provide memberships to NY Kids Club, the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Public Library and sign baby up for classes so that both nanny and baby have everything they need to get out of the house during any season! It's $30 to $35/hour for 40 hours/week guaranteed plus a half day on Friday and ample days off! They're looking to hire somebody ASAP so be sure to apply today!

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

Somebody experienced with infants and toddlers and enthusiastic about Brooklyn-based living and caregiving! Somebody dependable, prompt, nurturing, easy-going and adaptable. They are an observant Jewish household and it's a huge plus if you have experience in a Kosher kitchen but not a requirement! Reliability and a collaborative attitude are a must for this position. Both Mom and Dad value any experience and advice a Nanny can bring to this role but really are looking for a team member first and fore most. Somebody with a positive and energetic attitude that wants to get out and about and take advantage of all the wonderful things in their neighborhood! They'd love a person who can integrate into the Nanny community in their building and can go on play dates etc. with their neighbors. Somebody who is super helpful and passionate about working with this age group!

Schedule

Monday- Friday 8AM-5PM and Half days on Fridays (8AM-1PM)

About the Children

Girl, 10 months - She's super loving and cuddly. She's begun cruising on the furniture! She's been teething lately and recently got four teeth in one month! She's not a ham or a show off baby but she does love to be engaged! She's incredibly social and sweet.

Responsibilities

Helping feed the girl meals (baby led with some spooned assistance). Parents make the food and organize it for the week- you'll just needs to heat/prep/serve. Making product or food suggestions/requests is helpful if you have ideas! Clean up from meals (splat mat, highchair, tray) and wash her dishes. You'll also help get the girl dressed for the day and change clothing after playing in the playground/public areas. Along with this, you'll keep tabs on how things are fitting/seasonal clothing needs and alert the parents as necessary. From there, you'll play with her and taking initiative with play is helpful! Suggest new toys, try out new activities, organize toys and/or rotate them. Take her to local parks (with the goal of getting her outside once a day), take her to indoor areas (NY Kids Club, Brooklyn Museum) and set up playdates with kids her age in building. Research classes in the neighborhood (BK Museum kids story time, Hop along Andrew) and go to them. They're also looking for a person to help the keep tabs on the girl's health (does it seem like she’s teething, runny nose? Etc.). For nap times, you'll rock her to sleep for naps. It's important to note that they don't agree with the cry it out method! You may occasionally do a contact nap if she’s sick or teething. You'll help keep her humidifier full, diaper pail empty, baby laundry put away or baby bag unpacked from trip etc. Once a week their cleaning person comes to do these things, but extra hands are helpful!

Additional Information

All adults are vaccinated and boosted. They are looking for a fully vaccinated nanny.
