Overview

This returning South Orange, NJ is looking for a fun, organized and grounded afterschool nanny to tackle the daily afterschool schedule. You'll need to have a driver's license (they'll provide the car) so you can do school pick up and bring the kids to various after-school activities. It will start on May 16th and run about four weeks until mid-June, when school gets out! The family has a great house, huge yard with a pool and two dogs! It's $30 to $35/hour for 25 hours guaranteed. If you're looking for a pre-summer, short term gig, don't let this one pass you by!

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

This family has had AuPairs and Nannies and they've always had great experiences. Candidates who are mature, responsible, yet fun do well with them. Being organized and able to really keep the kids structured each day is helpful, for example, a person who can stay on top of their homework, unload their back packs, etc. and doing all necessary communication with the parents. A bit of flexibility in the evenings is really important as the parents' commute home from the city on the train.

Schedule

The core schedule is Monday through Friday, 2 PM to 7 PM with flexibility to stay late on occasion, since Mom and Dad commute on the train from the city. The family is happy to guarantee 25 hours/week!

About the Children

Boy, 8: He's into Minecraft, robots, soccer, lacrosse, guitar, obsessed with video games! He's very extroverted! Girl, 11: 11 - She's quieter and more observant. She's super creative and likes drawing. She's low maintenance. She gets along great with equally creative people!

Responsibilities

You'll arrive at their house, grab the family car and go pick-up the kids who are at two different schools. From there, it's home for a snack and homework, or off to a variety of afterschool activities, or both! Then you do dinner and Mom and Dad take over from there. You'll also do light housework like the kid's laundry and tidying up their rooms, unloading their lunchboxes, etc.

They are fully vaccinated and looking for a fully vaccinated sitter. You'll need a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
