How about a position that will last at least a few years until the child is old enough for pre-school? Well, if you’re nodding your head, then this is the position for you! This family is looking for a cheerful, nurturing, playful yet structured, safety-oriented and organized infant nanny who loves to sing. It’s a Monday through Friday position from 8am-6pm, with one early day that ends at 12pm (the nanny and family will decide together on which day will end early, it just can’t be Wednesdays!). The Ideal Sitter for this Job
The ideal nanny for this position values kindness and self-compassion, integrity and honesty, responsibility, mutual respect, flexibility, fairness, and direct communication. Someone extremely comfortable with little littles (babies through approximately age 3 years old). Someone who is interested in child development and loves helping babies grow and meet developmental milestones. Both parents work professional careers, so someone with a track record of being extremely reliable and on-time is incredibly important. With one parent in the office most days each week and the other working from home two days per week, the ideal nanny will be comfortable with sharing the apartment with the working parent, and is happy to spend time outside, take walks, and utilize nearby parks. Patience is huge, of course, when it comes to children of all ages, so someone who is extremely patient and thoughtful. At the same time, someone who is comfortable scheduling playdates, making friends with other children, scheduling new age appropriate activities, and modifying the child’s schedule as their needs change due to their natural development.
Schedule
8am-6pm with one afternoon predetermined off from 12pm-6pm (just not Wednesdays!) The family is happy to guarantee 44 hours per week.
About the Children
This little “peanut” of a baby is 6 months old and trying so hard to stand up! She’s rolling over like crazy, sitting up on her own, and doing everything she can to army crawl and get moving. She takes breastmilk bottles which mom pumps (like a champion!) and she’s recently started stage one solids (purees, etc). She loves to be sung to, read to, spoken to, taken on walks, and played with all day long (except for nap time, of course). This little one has just started their journey in life, and we’re all excited to see the person she turns into.
Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for all baby related things including feeding the baby bottles and solids, changing diapers and clothing, keeping toys and bottles clean, baby laundry, working with mom and dad to ensure baby supplies are stocked and available, and of course, your main priority: taking care of this sweet baby! The day will begin at 8am with a bit of play time. Around 9am, it will be time for the first nap of the day, after which the baby we’ll take a bottle and play. Depending on the weather, a walk in the stroller or some playtime in the apartment is in order, along with some solid foods. After a midday nap, repeat, repeat, repeat! There’s also one later nap in the day currently (between 4:30-5:30pm), but this will all change in a matter of months since children at this age develop so quickly! Parents will be home by 6pm to relieve you from your responsibilities.
Additional Information
Must be vaccinated, boosted, and COVID conscious since there are some high risk individuals in the family’s life. CPR-certified or willing to be CPR-certified is also required. Someone willing to get a flu shot seasonally as well.
