FULL-TIME: NANNY in Tribeca with a 4-year-old and 6-year-old, $30 to $35/hour plus benefits!
Overview
Are you an independent, experienced caregiver looking for a position that is a good mix of childcare and household management? Are you a clear and direct communicator that would love to work with a boy (4-years-old) and girl (6-years-old) and value a professional yet warm and familial atmosphere? Are you looking for a schedule that is somewhere between part-time and full-time? Look no further than this awesome downtown family! They're looking for an awesome, self-starting nanny to join their family and stay for a couple of years. It's $30 to $35/hour for 30 hours/week guaranteed (with ability to flex up between 32 and 35/week! Just let us know), plus a MetroCard, PTO, sick time and partial Healthcare reimbursement. They're looking for someone to start immediately.
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
You love to work independently! This position is best for folks who like to be in charge of the day, have experience and are confident with meal planning and structuring the day to day. Ideally, you're also a great boundary-setter too! The parents love firm boundaries and will support you in setting them. They believe strongly in sharing, manners, and setting up their kids to be generous, aware, and good little humans. They've only had one nanny previously and they believe in nannies becoming almost like family - they honor it as a very close relationship. They love a clear communicator who can say what they need while also being warm and thoughtful. Mom reads a lot of childhood development books and while they aren't requiring a person who has experience with this, they are looking for a person who is CURIOUS about this and will share in that with her.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 1 P.M. to 7 P.M. during the school year. In the summer, they would prefer a person who has some flexibility to work 8:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. when possible.
About the Children
Girl: 6 - She's going into first grade and she's a typical 6-year-old girl. Unicorns! Rainbows! She likes to build things and constructs little stuffed animal houses. She also makes 3D stuff. She’s creative! Does hip hop dance and swimming last year and she’ll do two or three afterschool activities this year. The plan is to have three days of scheduled afterschool time and two days of unscheduled time. She’s learning to read. Working on letters and sounding out words. Somebody next year who would be happy to do letters practice and reading, that would be very helpful. She stands up for what is right! She's very polite. Boy: 4 - He's going into pre-K. He loves to play - buses, trucks, fire engines, etc. He needs a lot of one-to-one attention. He scares easily; he’s a sensitive soul. He doesn't do well in EVERY activity he tries (didn't do so well in soccer last year) so there will be some trial and error with him and his activities this year.
Responsibilities
You'll come in at 1 P.M. and handle grocery shopping, meal planning, and cooking! This is the time to plan the week, order groceries for the meals you'll want to make and more. You'll be totally in charge of this realm! The family has a house cleaner but if you also use some time to run the vacuum, load the dishwasher or anything else that you deem might be helpful, that would be great. At 2:20 P.M. you'll leave to do school pick up. Once you have both kids, you'll be off to after school activities around the neighborhood. Then it's home for dinner, time for packing up the school lunches for tomorrow, and then clean up. You'll get the early part of the bedtime routine started but then Mom and Dad will take over!
