SHORT TERM SUMMER: 2 KIDS, WEST SIDE TBD, $1,200/WEEK

Overview

Smart Sitter turned Smart Family! Would you like to work for someone who knows the ins and outs of being a Smart Sitter? Because Mom used to be one! Working with this family is sure to be a lovely experience, so apply now before it’s gone. This Texas-based family is looking for a temporary, summer sitter while Mom returns to NYC while trialing for a new job. She now has two sweet kids, ages 3 and 14 months, and is looking for someone to care for them full time for the summer months. Their ideal sitter will be extremely engaging with toddler-aged children, and will enjoy making them feel extra safe and loved in this big time of transition for their family. The Mom doesn’t know what neighborhood they will be housed in yet, but we will let you know as soon as we do! She knows however that it will be on the west side of Manhattan. This family is happy to offer $25/hour gross ($1,200/week gross for 44 hours/week, plus overtime when applicable).

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

Do you love the Montessori style of raising children? Mom does too, and a sitter with experience with it would be a huge plus! Since the baby girl is so easygoing and will warm up to anyone, the ideal sitter for this family will give extra dedicated attention to the boy. Their family is specifically looking for someone that can connect with him! This family is really looking for a personality match: someone who is extremely warm, can provide physical attention (snuggles and hugs), is creative, dynamic, and fun. A standout that they love in their current sitter will is that she will turn on music and dance and sing with them.

Schedule

Monday through Friday 8:15/8:30 AM until 5:30/5:45 PM

About the Children

Girl, age 1 (14 months): The baby girl is a delightful child, smiley and always in a great mood. She is chill, content, easygoing and fun. According to Mom, she loves music and dancing and is already a fashionista. The only thing this little girl will fight you on? Giving her the wrong accessories for her mood! She eats anything and loves being active. Boy, age 3: Loving and smart, the older boy is more sensitive over all and takes longer to warm up to someone. He needs more dedicated attention. However, he has been in Montessori school, and another sitter, so he has experience around other adults. He is the child that will need more time to connect. Potty trained for the most part, but Mom expects some possible regression with the routine change.

Responsibilities

Having a really fun summer in the city with two wonderful kiddos! You’ll be completely independent with the kids as Mom and Dad will both be working out of the house. Their family is especially looking for someone who can help them establish a new routine in this new city, including fun time outside and exploring all that NYC has to offer them (going to museums, parks, etc. at the same time of day everyday) and working that in with meals and naps. It’s super important to them to find a sitter that can offer consistency in this period of change. Household management tasks aren’t big in this role-you just get to engage and have fun with the kids!
