FULL-TIME (MON-THURS), FAMILY ASSISTANT: WESTCHESTER, 2 BOYS
Overview
Would you love to work full-time with Fridays off? This super lovely and kind family in Westchester is looking for a full-time Family Assistant in Scarsdale! They are experienced employers (but new to Smart Sitting) and looking for an equally experienced Family Assistant to join their team. They live over a mile from the train station in Scarsdale so this position is best for those that have their own cars and live in the Westchester area or the Bronx! They’ve had the same nanny for the past 9 years and she’s about to start another career as a nurse, so they’re looking for a new and equally awesome nanny for their two boys, 11 and 8.
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
Love dogs but can’t have them at your place? Love to throw a ball around the yard? Looking for a job that is autonomous and only four days/week? This is the position for you! If you're an active and fun nanny that loves to be outside, this family wants to hear from you. This position is also great for a person who is looking for 50% household management and 50% childcare. Sports oriented family assistants or those who love to go outside for fun activities will shine here. Since part of this job is taking the dogs on a walk, somebody who LOVES sweet and big (but calm) dogs will thrive in this role. The ideal Family Assistant for this job can drive, probably has their own car, and knows how to swim.
Schedule
Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM, 44.5 hours/week guaranteed.
About the Children
Boy, 11: Old soul. He came out of the womb and was already 40 years old. He’s a gentle, sweet and funny kid. A real gentleman. Except when it comes to Lacrosse…Mom says this is when he goes into beast mode! He’s a goalie on two teams in town and is very serious about it. He does his homework without asking. Has an innate sense of justice. Doesn’t want to be babied by his nannies but does want to be your friend! Boy, 8: They call him “Fuego”. You’ll find him dancing on the tables. Mom says he’s a rainbow wrapped in sunshine. He’s really smart and equally kind. He’s SUPER empathetic. His teachers love him and say he’s the sweetest - they just want him to stop talking sometimes. He’s SOCIAL. Has a million friends. He’s the kid that keeps getting his desk moved because he won’t stop chatting up his neighbor.
Responsibilities
You’ll start the day by arriving and making breakfast for the boys, getting their lunches ready, and getting them ready for school. Then you’ll come back and walk the dog, throw in some laundry, turn on DJ Roomba (we love robot vacuums) and perform some other light household chores like making the beds and grocery shopping. Most of these tasks won’t take too long and many days, you’ll have a few hours to yourself before school pick up! Mom doesn’t mind if you leave and go do errands of your own, as long as you stay within 20 minutes or so of the area and are close by in the event of an emergency school pick up scenario. Then it’s time to prepare snack, grab the boys and begin the afterschool shuffle! They have an extra car just for the nanny, so you don’t have to log miles on your own! Then it’s back home for homework, dinner and maybe another short dog walk before heading home. June 1 start date, with flexibility!

Covid vaxxed and they are covid vaxxed and boosted. Driving, swimming required. They have a place in New Orleans, if you’re open to traveling!
