Overview

Do you want a great summer position with lots of one-on-one time? Are you looking for something temporary just for the summer? Are you super patient, and can connect with an 8-year-old, showing excitement about her interests? This short-term summer position might be a great fit for you! This Mom is looking for an After School type sitter (after camp, in this case!) to spend time with her daughter in the afternoons. This position starts the week of June 5th and will last until around September 15. It's $25 to $30/hour ($500 to $600/week for 20 hours/week guaranteed) and comes with a MetroCard. They are happy to guarantee 20 hour/week.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

This family is excited to find a candidate that’s even keeled, experienced, and relaxed. Someone super patient and kind-hearted. Because the daughter is quite mature for her age, they're looking for a sitter who won't "baby" her, and can be a super responsible, adult companion. Their past sitters haven't been great connecting with her, so she's hesitant, someone who will really enjoy engaging with her interests would be a huge plus to this family.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM with 20 hour/week guaranteed

About the Children

Girl, 8: She’s got a lot of interests! Favorites include sports, drama and STEAM activities. She loves American Ninja Warrior and graphic novels. Right now, she's in the unique phase of transitioning from childhood to early tween: she's just recently swapped out her Barbies and stuffed animals for lipgloss and purses.

Responsibilities

This is a pretty typical after school type job schedule! You’ll pick the girl up at 3:00 PM from camp and have some fun until dinner time. Some of the activities that Mom would love for you to do together include going to the park and taking her on playdates before going home to get dinner ready.
