FULL-TIME, LIVE-IN, WEEKENDS: Family Assistant needed for four awesome kids!

Overview

Would you love to get out of town most weekends? How does packing up the family car and taking the kids to a drive-in movie sound? Or maybe a hike? This family with four kids, ages 14, 12, 9 & 6, are looking for a fun, proactive, Family Assistant with a big personality. For this one, you arrive on Friday morning when the kids are in school to help pack and get ready for everyone to travel upstate, then you, the kids, the parents, and the dog (!) hop into the family vehicle and head upstate for the weekend, returning Sunday afternoon/evening. Very occasionally, they'll stay in the city. In each location, you'll have your own room and bathroom! You need to know how to drive and swim for this one. Interested? The Ideal Sitter for this Job

They are looking for nannies who will make this primary position. They are not currently considering candidates that work as a nanny or in another full-time industry during the week. Creatives, artists, etc. or those with other side pursuits, they will consider, as long you're able to maintain a healthy work/life balance. Driving and swimming are required for this position. Are you super confident, proactive, and love to work independently? Mom is looking for a person who, when given down time, will be able to find super useful ways to pass the time! Organizing the kids closets, or cleaning out drawers, etc. And of course, a person who will use that time to take a break too! You'll need to confident for this position - you won't be able to please all four kids at one time! It's about balance.

Schedule

This position begins on Friday at 9 AM and ends around the kids' bedtime on Sunday. It's a little different each weekend, but typically it's: Friday: 9 AM to 7/7:30 PM Saturday: 9 AM to 9 PM Sunday: 9 AM to 7/7:30 PM (flex up or down one hour).

About the Children

14-years-old, boy: He's in the sulky pre-teen phase. Sleeps a lot, eats a lot. He loves ramen so you'll see him making that for himself a lot. He’s pretty independent! He’s creative and very sensitive and sweet. Not an alpha male. He’s applying to boarding school now. There will be travel around that coming up! 12-years-old, girl: She’s super together. She's a rule follower, which can be deceiving. They call her a sheep in wolf’s clothing. Reserved until you get to know her. 9-year-old, girl: Has dyslexia and, ADHD. Suffering from a lot of anxiety and frustration from her current school, which they're working on resolving. A little more of a handful. So full of love and empathetic. She’s very outgoing and uninhibited. 6-years-old, boys: Little professor man. So much fun! Loves dinosaurs and snakes.

Responsibilities

When you arrive on Friday, you'll be packing everybody up for the weekend, going grocery shopping, and maybe doing some meal prep so there is food ready to go when everybody gets back on Sunday evening. When the kids arrive, you'll help them all get ready and into the car! Then you're off. Once upstate, it's dinner and bedtime. The weekend is all about hanging with the younger kids, particularly the 6-year-old. Finding fun things to do. Taking them on a hike or gathering them all up to head to a drive-in movie. If it's raining, you're adaptable and will be able to find fun things for the kids to do inside. Up there you'll also help cook means and assist with the 6 year-old's bedtime routine. You're pretty much done once he's in bed!

You need to know how to swim and drive for this position. This is a live-in position. The family would like this position to be your primary position.
