Are you looking for a short-term position with a baby through September, but are also willing to lend a hand wherever it's needed? Have you been waiting for that busy, fun, Brooklyn family that wants you to be a part of their family? Do you thrive in work environments where each day is a little different? Are you an incredible organizer who loves to keep a family on track? We've got the role for you! This super fun Brooklyn family has three kids, 7, 2, and 10 months, but the main time spent in this role will be with the baby (as they do have another nanny)! However, they're definitely looking for someone who is ready to be the ultimate team player, with a can-do attitude, and help out however needed (and with the other kids when needed). They'd love to find someone ASAP, so apply today! They're looking for a capable, experienced nanny who can work primarily with the baby, full time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M, at least through the Fall. Summers are spent in Martha's Vineyard and they will work with you on a modified schedule that fits everyone's needs. It's $30 to $35/hour, depending on experience, plus PTO, Sick Time, MetroCard. Health insurance will be considered on a case by case basis, so let us know exactly what you need. You'll need to be updated on all of your vaccines like Covid and Flu.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

Do you love to work on a team? Do you thrive in situations that need you to be flexible and adaptable? Do you love working with infants but also think the occasional day at a museum with school aged kids is super fun? This is a position for somebody who thrives amongst change and the day-to-day looking a little different! This family is organized and structured but at the end of the day, there are three kids and a lot of moving parts! There is another nanny and Mom often works from home, so you'll very much feel like you're part of a team. They live in a five story brownstone, so an active person who can go up and down stairs is a must. Being tech savvy is also very helpful! They use Apple calendar invites and Apple notes and knowing how to manage and use a virtual calendar will be huge. It's a full-time baby position so having that base of experience is a huge part of the job and required. They're also looking for someone willing and able to travel with them!

Schedule

Monday through Friday 8 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. Now through September The family is happy guarantee of 35 hours/week because many weeks you'll get to go home early on Friday! However many weeks will be 40 to 50 hours/week. Overtime is included for any hours over 40.

About the Children

Girl, 7: She's been in a lot of after school activities (ballet, art, music, piano, tennis). She's a kid with big feelings! Boy, 2: Toddler! They're trying to potty train him. Not as big of feelings as his sister. He thinks it's hilarious to play with the security panel and call the fire department (they're working on this!). Great imagination. Baby, 10 months: He's perfect and a great sleeper. Big baby! 9 lbs at birth. He's a big guy and very happy. He's progressing quickly in his development; he just took his first steps!

Responsibilities

It's all hands on deck! When you arrive in the morning, you'll be generally helping where you can, whether it's getting breakfast going for the older two or dressing the baby. It's a team effort until everybody is out the door and where they need to go! Then, it's you and the little one. You'll feed him, sing to him, read to him, work on those baby milestones and find a class or two that you can take him to! After school, the other sitter will join in and work with the older kids, but sometimes, if one of them is sick or school is out for the day, Mom will need you to help step-in and work on a team with her to get coverage for everybody. They'd love some dog walking as well, so if you're a dog lover, this job is for you!

Additional Information

Swimming would be a huge bonus! They spend summers in Martha's Vineyard and would work with you on a schedule to accompany them. Updated vaccines are required since you'll be with the baby (Flu, all Covid shots and boosters, no exceptions).
