This new SmartFamily with two fun, lovely kiddos is looking for a professional, educationally-minded full-time nanny ASAP to add to their team, and are looking for a long term commitment. It's $40 to $50/hour gross (depending on experience) plus PTO, Sick Time, MetroCard and Healthcare Stipend. The family is happy to guarantee 40 hours/week, but is also open to extending the hours a bit past 40 for the right, highly experienced candidate.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

Do you drive? Do you swim? The ideal nanny for this role will need to do both! They have a pool in their building so even if you aren't going to the Hamptons, swim is a must. You must have full-time nanny experience with this age group, and a positive can-do attitude. You are looking for a long term commitment too! They need someone who gets excited to engage with the kids in their care, and get on the floor to play with cars or chase them around the room. The older girl is very into imaginative play, and likes to be the director of little productions! Someone who will love sharing this with her, and truly stimulate their imaginations is essential for this role. They're also looking for a nanny who can come up with arts and crafts projects, and fun educational activities to further their development: you love to make a plan for the day to help grow their little minds. Because of this, a nanny with a background in education may be a great fit, as well. They're also looking for someone who is willing to drive their car in the city, and with the flexibility to stay a bit later on occasion.

Schedule

Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM (possibly 6:45 AM to 3:45 PM) This family is looking for someone with a flexible schedule to occasionally stay later. If you're looking for more regularly scheduled hours past 40, let us know in your application! The family is open to some overtime for the right candidate.

About the Children

Girl, 5: This gal is 5 going on 15! Most people are shocked that she is 5, rather than 7 or 8. So creative! A little director, wants to direct you in her imaginary plays. Boy, about to be 2: At (not even quite) 2, this chatty little guy speaks in giant flows of words and cute babbles, that his parents funny enough, can't always understand quite yet! But this little man already has a lot to say. They’re both super outgoing, and have a lot of personality. They're super talkative, have a lot of energy, but can both be really focused for surprising periods of time. Both are very fun, funny, silly kids and are very precocious.

Responsibilities

The day starts bright and early at 6:45/7:00 AM! You'll start the morning routine and get the older girl to school uptown via subway or bus. You also will be asked to drive the girl to school in the family's car on days when the trains aren't running smoothly, so a licensed driver with a clean driving record is a must for this role. You'll also be picking up the girl from school, as well. Other responsibilities throughout the day involve engaging the boy or both kids in playtime, planning stimulating activities for them, organizing and overseeing playdates, etc. You'll also be expected to perform household tasks including but not limited to keeping the kids spaces tidy, meal prep, and laundry. They would love to find someone who is able to travel to the Hamptons with them in the summer, but this is not a requirement for the role.
