This returning SmartFamily in Hoboken is looking for a reliable sitter to care for their two kids, ages 2.5 and 5 once a week. It's $30 to $35/hour gross for an estimated 14 hours/week plus your overnight rate.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

The ideal nanny is open and communicative with the parents, and is respectful of the family's style. They are pretty hands off with their nannies and need someone who can operate independently and make executive decisions. Having someone who can really engage the kids is important, so coming in with that creativity and proactive approach is ideal. Punctuality, dependability and reliability are all extremely important for this position. The ideal sitter must be able to navigate the two age groups. Being tidy and mindful of the space is also essential. The family would also love to work with someone who can drive but it is not required! It's also imperative that they find a nanny who is willing to work when one of the kids is mildly ill. You also must be willing to travel occasionally, just on the weekends, as the family will ask the sitter in this role to spend some weekends in the Hamptons with them this summer.

Schedule

Friday 6 P.M. to Saturday 6 P.M. every week. (including overnights)

About the Children

Girl, 2.5: Will be starting school in September! Boy, 5: He’s in school full time now, and is super curious. They’re both easy kids according to Mom! They're both active and thrive with a sitter who is engaging and fun.

Responsibilities

You’ll arrive in the evening and handle dinner, bath time, and bedtime. You'll stay the night (so please let us know your overnight rate). There is a private bedroom and bathroom in the basement level of their townhome. In the morning, you'll get the kids off to their Saturday activities and spend the day with them until 6:00! Please note, there will be weekends in the summer in which the family will ask the nanny to travel to the Hamptons with them, Friday-Sunday (if you have a M-F gig let them know and they can work with you on the times).
