Overview

This sweet family with two boys, 3 and 1, are relocating to the Westfield /Union County area from Jersey City and are looking for a local nanny to join their team! The position is primarily with the 1-year-old, but will involve school pick-up and some time with both the 3-year-old and the 1-year-old, making this an ideal position for nannies who have experience with multiples. They're looking for a really fun, cheerful, and energetic nanny! Somebody who really loves toddler and who is excited to come in prepared with fun activities, sensory play, and all the things that stimulate their young minds. Driving is required, however you'll use the family car for activities related to the kids. It's $30 to $35/hour plus benefits. They expect the position to last at least one year! Apply today.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

Someone with a worry-free and sunny disposition! Both boys are young, so energy is a must. Somebody who LOVES this age group is definitely going to work well here. You're crafty, scrappy and proactive. YOU LOVE the sensory stuff, you geek out on baby activities and coming up with them. Somebody who knows how to support Mom is ideal - meaning you know all the little things that help (dishes away, tidy home when she arrives, etc). You must be comfortable working with two children at once. Someone who's not afraid to communicate with Mom! She likes to know all the little things. She is also keen on listening to any suggestions from the nanny. Did you experiment with a new food and it went over well? Let her know and she'll buy more! Clothes getting too small? Let her know and she'll get more.

Schedule

7:30 AM to 5:30 PM any 3 weekdays! Nanny's choice. The family is happy to guarantee 30 hours/week ** The family is moving and their schedule is still a bit TBD, so some flexibility with the times is appreciated, as it may shift down or up **

About the Children

3-year-olds, boy: He's in Montessori! He's a picky eater. Super animated dude with a great personality. Late talker, his speech is delayed so he goes to speech therapy twice/week 1-year-old, boy: He's a handful! Super playful little ball of energy. He's a happy kid. He'll fly off the couch ready to play the moment you come in!

Responsibilities

Mom will be heading out for work in NYC right after you arrive! You'll be with the baby most of the day, but there may be a one or two hour cross over with both kids. The baby is still needing to gain some weight, so a huge priority is keeping up with his appetite and making sure he eats. You'll feed the baby three meals/day and put him down for his afternoon nap. You will also pick the 3 year-old up from school and then stay with them until Mom gets home around 5:15 P.M. Help with dinner, like very simple meal prep so Mom can take over, and light housework will be appreciated! She'd love to arrive home to a tidy home wish dishes clean and put away, etc!
