HEAVY PART-TIME: 3 kids in Flatiron!

Overview

Are you looking for a great new position starting in the fall? Are you passionate about making life easier for a busy family with 3 sweet kiddos? This new SmartFamily would love to meet you! Starting the last week of August or the first week of September, this lovely family is looking for a new nanny in Flatiron. However, if you're looking for hours this summer, they'd love to have you come with them to their home in CT for some weeks (and that will require the ability to drive and swim)! It's $30 to $40/hour gross plus PTO, Sick Time, and a MetroCard, and the family is happy to guarantee 30-35 hours/week.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

The ideal nanny for this position is super warm, but can establish and maintain boundaries with kids of varying age groups. You have great comfort navigating the city with kids, and you're very street-smart and aware of your surroundings. For example, you have good judgement with questionable scenarios on the subway, and will move subway cars/jump into cabs (hopefully not too often) when it's needed. This family is also looking for a sitter who is very responsive to texts from the parents throughout the day. You're comfortable in the kitchen, and can help Mom meal prep for the kids. It's not a requirement, but if you've got a passion for cooking and would like to prepare dinner for the parents too, that's a huge plus! Please note, this family has a dog so the nanny can't be allergic to dogs.

Schedule

Monday through Friday 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. or 9:00 P.M. with the flexibility for occasional evening and weekend date nights.

About the Children

Girl, 4: Going into kindergarten! She'll be starting new activities in the fall as well: ballet, and chorus with her sister. This girlie is very funny, playful, loves art and piano lessons, and loves chess. Girl, 9: She's very diligent about school work, loves Taylor Swift, and loves to sing. She's in chorus, acting class, and tennis. This gal is very busy, and her activities are a mix of downtown and uptown travels, so she needs you to be her subway buddy! She encountered a scary event on the subway with a sitter and she is a little wary of it now, but this family definitely needs to take the train, so a sitter that can help her through this hesitation would be ideal. She loves Harry Potter and The Hunger Games, she's great with grown-ups and is a fab listener. She's also very into skincare right now (but Mom would love to have her pivot away from this one, and have her enjoy being little). Boy, 12: The oldest, he's in 7th grade, and he's already pretty autonomous. He's really into all sports, loves NFL and trading cards. He's really into tennis, and they already have a dedicated sitter who takes him there. Typical tween, only tricky thing is meals. He comes home from tennis and wants Shake Shack or Chipotle every night, so they'd love to find a sitter who can make exciting, healthier meals at home he'll be into rather than letting him order out all the time.

Responsibilities

You'll start the day with school pickup! The sitter will typically only be with one or two kids at one time. You'll be shuttling to various after-school activities around town and heading home. Then, you'll help get the kids' dinner on the table, tidy up the kitchen a bit, and then lend a hand with baths and bedtime. They have a sweet puppy, so this sitter must love dogs, as they're looking for someone comfortable with walking the doggo from time to time, as well. Because this family spends their summers in Connecticut, driving and swimming is required.

Additional Information

Please note, the family is planning to move to the Upper East Side early next year, so please take into consideration if that works for you or not!
