Overview

We adore this returning two Mom family in Brooklyn, co-parenting two boys, ages 4 & 7. They've been working with an awesome Smart Sitter for a few months who will be leaving for a theater gig soon, so this family is looking for short-term help through June 24th! The Moms separated last year but currently live about an 8 minute walk from each other and speak about the boys daily. They're looking for a high energy and very playful nanny who can work with them part-time, Monday through Thursday, through June. The boys are sweet but love physical play, so if you're a former athlete or just know what it's like to have energy you need to get out of your body, this might be a great fit for you! It's $30/hour and short-term through end of June. Position will start mid May roughly!

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

Are you a former college athlete? Do you run marathons? Do you have energy, energy, energy? Or, did you grow up in a household with siblings where you had pillow fights, nerf gun wars, etc? The Moms are looking for somebody who can be a cool aunt or uncle to the boys. Somebody they get excited to see everyday. If you're not afraid of making an obstacle course, refereeing some roughhousing, or structured outdoor play AND you also know how get them to wind down after, when it's needed, this is the job for you! Think laughing, silly, and not phased by boys who like to wrestle. The ability to be sensitive to moving between and within two different households is also imperative here. Beyond that, one of the Mom's said "energetic, communicative, and reliable. Extra bonus if you enjoy making preparing meals!"

Monday - Thursday 4 P.M. - 8 P.M.

About the Children

Boy, 4: He loves Spider-Man, building magna-tiles and forts, drawing and painting, and using his imagination to make up worlds! Boy, 7: This big brother loves to read and draw, swing on the monkey bars and ask lots of questions.

Responsibilities

Two days/week you'll arrive at one of the Mom's homes and help with some household stuff, like meal prep or general tidying, maybe throwing in some laundry for the boys before the boys come home! The other two days, you'll arrive at school pick-up and take them to fun after school activities. Each night is fairly the same - there will be dinnertime, bath, and bed. You'll partner with Mom (at each household!) to figure out who is doing what. For example, you'll load the dishwasher, while Mom reads bedtime stories, or you'll help the boys with bath, while Mom cleans up dinner. Each day will be a little different!
