Overview

Calling all Swifties who would love to spend the summer with a budding thespian! This returning Smart Family is looking for a part-time sitter to spend June through early September with their 10-year-old daughter. She would do best with a person who can relate to her on her level and treat her like the aspiring teen that she is (rather than a kiddo). Her current interests are varied - everything from Sci-Fi to Taylor Swift! She'll also be in drama camp this summer. If you'd love to dish about everything from lip gloss to martial arts, this super smart girl would love to meet you! It's $30/hour. Ideally, the family only needs 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday for 15 hours/week total, but they know that can be tough, so they can guarantee up to 20 hours/week for the right person! Tell us what you need in your application. Those hours will start on June 24th, but they'd ideally love a person who can start as soon as June 10th and that has some flex to do more hours until that schedule begins!

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

The ideal candidate for this position will be able to connect with the girl, especially around her interests, and feel more like a companion rather than a babysitter. She's 10 going on 16, and respecting that and connecting with her on it, rather than babying her about it, will be best for this role! Beyond that, being even keeled, experienced, and relaxed would be great! As well as someone super patient and kind-hearted.

Schedule

Monday - Friday: 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM Not enough hours but interested? The family can add one additional hour each day to get you to 20 hours/week!

About the Children

Girl, 10-years-old: She's very into Taylor Swift. She's trying to be a teenager. She's been doing Taikwando for a few years and she loves it! She's doing drama camp over the summer and is totally into theater. She's moved out of graphic novels but still reads a lot. She likes sci-fi! She also does gymnastics.

Responsibilities

This is a pretty typical after-school/after-camp type job schedule! You’ll pick the girl up at 3:30 PM from her drama camp on the UES and have some fun until dinner time. Some of the activities that Mom would love for you to do together include going to the park and taking her to, and supervising your own play dates before going home to get dinner ready.
