Overview

This new family is making the transition from a full-time nanny ! They're looking for two positions, but the position could easily be one for the right candidate, especially if you love cooking and have experience doing it! They need 1.) an after-school sitter for the 9 and 12 year old girls! and 2.) a part-time meal prep/meal service. Position 1.), the after school sitter, would work from 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday and would entail picking the girls up from school, taking them to activities, and being an all around companion. Position 2.) entails prepping simple, healthy meals for the whole family. Think batch cooking, that ensures the family can open the fridge and pull out something easy and delicious! You can choose either Position 1, Position 2 OR BOTH. Please be clear in your application which you're interested in, and your experience. Shoot us a text if you run out room but want to list more! It's $30 to $35/hour for the after-school sitting position, plus PTO, Sick Time, MetroCard. The meal prep position is open to your suggestions, and depends on your experience, or would be added to your sitter role at your hourly rate. Both positions start in early September!

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

For the after school position, the family is looking for somebody who can be a companion to the girls and also help them with homework! They go to an academically rigorous school, so the family will prioritize college graduates for this position. Beyond that, somebody who is fun, can relate to the girls, and is looking to connect with them on their lives and interests! If you're interested in the cooking piece, the family will be looking for previous experience in a role and alignment around healthy, simple meals.

Schedule

Meal prep and Chef hours are flexible and TBD. After-school sitter hours: Monday through Friday 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM

About the Children

Two girls, 12 and 9: They both go to Brearely. They play tennis and have after school activities at the River Club.

Responsibilities

For the after-school sitter, you'll pick the girls up from school, take them to actives, make sure they do their homework (they get a lot of it!) and help them when needed. For the cooking position, you'll arrive at their apartment a few times a week and do meal prep! If you have cooking experience or have a background in culinary arts, AND want to do the sitting position, you can do both.
