The Ideal Sitter for this Job

The ideal nanny for this family is CPR-certified (and updated!) reliable, and communicative. This will be their first nanny, and Mom is a little nervous about leaving the kids with someone for the first time, so the ability to make them feel comfortable is key! Trustworthiness is essential. Someone flexible, with a positive attitude, a "how can I help" mentality and a willingness to adapt to the family's needs will thrive in this role. The family has recently experienced a loss, so the ability to provide stability and support during this challenging time is needed. They're seeking a dependable, empathetic nanny looking for a long-term commitment. Schedule

Monday through Friday 12 P.M. - 8 P.M., 40 hours/week guaranteed. Flexibility for additional hours is appreciated.

About the Children

Girl, 1 year old: This gal is pretty easygoing! She's a happy-go-lucky baby and is napping for 2-3 hour periods. Boy, 3 years old: He loves being outside: this guy enjoys the swing set, running around the backyard, and playing in the dirt! He's in school until 1 PM.

Responsibilities

The little boy is in school until 1 PM, so your first hour or so will be spent accomplishing some household tasks, or hanging with his baby sister! Mom will likely get him from school most days, and the nanny won't regularly be driving the children; however, based on their location in Long Island, the ability to drive to and from their home is most likely needed. During the day, you'll engage in a lot of playtime, and plan fun activities (they love arts and crafts)! The nanny will be Mom's teammate to get through the day as smoothly as possible and help make life easier. You'll help tackle bedtime as well before you head out for the day. While Mom doesn't anticipate you'll be traveling with the family any time soon, the ability to travel in the future is very helpful.

Additional Information

An up-to-date pediatric CPR certification is required for this role.
