HEAVY PART-TIME or FULL-TIME: Nanny for SAHM & 3 Kids on the UWS!

Overview

This sweet and busy UWS family with three kids, 12, 8 & 8 are looking for their next amazing nanny, after saying good-bye to their last caregiver earlier this year. They always make close connections with their nannies, so losing their last person has been tough but they're ready to meet their next new match! Mom stays at home and Dad travels a lot, so she's really looking for, above all else, a true team player. You'll be working alongside Mom in the after-school and evening hours to get the kids where they need to go, help their homework get done, fed, and ready for bed! They're looking for a big heart, an active and outgoing personality, and somebody who understands what it takes to build trust with kids. It's $30 to $35/hour plus benefits. They'd love to get started after Labor Day when school starts but they're committed to fit above all else so there is flexibility.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

You're very energetic! They're open to meeting any and all people of any age, they're super open, but they are looking for somebody young at heart. The kids do best with nannies who will play with them! Think pillow forts, reading books, games, etc. It's all about connection first and foremost with these three! At the same time, you're the type that won't let kids won't run all over you. Mom is looking for somebody who understands it takes time to build trust. Most likely, the kids will need an adjustment period to get to know you. Do you love cooking? That's not super important but it would be nice to have! Finally, since Mom stays home, she'd love to find a person that considers and understands her as well. This doesn't mean you're doing her laundry, it means more like understanding that she's juggling a lot and wants to be supported. In return, she'll be supporting you and will always back you up!

Schedule

Monday through Friday: 2 PM to 8/9 PM..

About the Children

12 years old, Boy: He can go places by himself. He pretty much just shows up for dinner at this point. Would be so nice if you took some effort to chat with him though! He's very into baseball. Every weekend of his is devoted to his baseball team. Almost 8 years old, Twin Boy: VERY into baseball. He has very, very big feelings. He can get pretty worked up, going from 0 to 90 quickly, but he's gotten a lot better at regulating himself as time goes on. He was in therapy for the past year and it's helped him a lot! He can sometimes say mean things and he fights with his older brother sometimes. More and more he's having some conflicts with his sister (typical sibling stuff!). He's very expressive though and he'll tell you exactly how things feel to him (which is great!). He can be very sweet! He LOVES to be read to and will want you to play with him. When it comes to his nannies, he's all in! He makes very deep connections with them, once he trusts them. Almost, 8 years old, Twin Girl: If her brother is like a dog, she's like a cat. She's been working through some medical issues and has some shame around it, so they're working with her on that. That effects her behavior a lot, she can get pretty stressed out. She keeps things close to her. She loves to read and she loves to draw. She's such a resilient kid. She still wants to do all things in her life, like go to sleep a way camp, even though it's tougher for her at the moment medically. She's awesome! Artistic and very cool.

Responsibilities

You'll arrive at 2 PM and get ready for the after-school shuffle! After preparing everything you'll need for the day and evening, you might pick-up the 12-year-old and take him to an activity or pick up the twins and take them to an activity. On days where there isn't anything going on, you might sit with the kids an ensure homework is done, and play some fun games, etc! Then it's helping with dinner, playing with the kids while Mom does meal prep, or Mom is hanging out with the kids and having some quality time, while you make dinner. Then it's getting everybody ready for bed after homework is totally complete! Helping with organizing, keeping things tidy, keeping a schedule, etc. will also be important here! They'd really love a person who can help keep the household running and functioning.
