Overview
Are you looking for a fantastic full-time baby role starting in early-to-mid October? Do you love one-on-one time with a smiley little baby girl? Is Carroll Gardens a reasonable everyday commute for you? This lovely new SmartFamily is looking for an experienced nanny for their adorable baby girl in Brooklyn. If you're a kind, detail-oriented, loving nanny with great baby experience, apply today! It's $30 to $35/hour gross and the family is happy to guarantee 40 hours/week.
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
You love working with babies! You're a warm caregiver who provides a great balance between helping their little one excel in her development, and also being a trusted and loving presence that their baby girl is excited to be around. You're a clear communicator, have strong attention to detail, and are very health and safety conscious. They're also looking for someone very active and energetic to keep up with a growing baby! Their building has steep stairs (internally, and some stairs outside to get into the building) so someone active enough to navigate that safely and comfortably every day is a must. You're a real team player, and while you've got great experience and can provide some guidance at times, you also take feedback well, and are willing to take a step back and follow the parents' lead. While it won't happen often, they'd love to find a nanny who could be flexible to travel with them if needed as well. The family has a sweet hypoallergenic dog as well, so their ideal nanny must be comfortable with pets. They'd prefer those who don't wear strong perfume to work, and a non-smoker.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, they're also open to 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Flexibility to stay late for work emergencies is super appreciated! In the perfect world, you can have flexibility for date nights or weekends (with notice) but it's not at all required.
About the Children
Girl, 6 months: She’s starting solids! This little gal is very smiley and loves interacting with adults. She's trying to find her voice and is having fun trying out new sounds! She loves when you sing to her or read to her, and loves when you interact and show her things around her.
Responsibilities
All the baby things! You'll be attending to her needs all day, and responsibilities include but aren't limited to feeding, playtime, tummy time, getting her down for a nap, doing baby's laundry, emptying the diaper pail, tidying her things, etc! She's starting on soft solids, so the nanny will need to prepare her (organic) baby food as well. You're knowledgeable about developmental stages and as she grows, you'll do more and more fun and stimulating activities together to help further her development (Early Childhood Education background is a bonus but not required)! Throughout the day, you love to talk to and read to the babies in your care, and get on their level to play. The family is passionate about a no-screens policy for the baby, but also for the caretaker (of course, unless it's to check in with the parents or in an emergency), so while it's a Smart Sitting policy that nannies have their phones away while on the job, this family is especially requesting you've got all eyes on their sweet little one! The parents are also working hybrid roles and will be WFH a few days a week, so they're looking for a nanny who is happy to work with parents in the home.
Additional Information
This family is looking for a nanny who is Covid-vaxxed and boosted, willing to get this year's flu shot, and updated on their TDAP vaccine.
