Would you love having one-on-one time with a super smart little 4-year-old? Are you looking for an after-school position in Brooklyn Heights? Starting ASAP, this returning SmartFamily is looking for a proactive and diligent after-school nanny. They're looking for someone super organized, with a calm, warm demeanor to care for their for their son. If this sounds like you, apply today! They'd love to find someone who can work full days when he's out of school (on school holidays, or if he's mildly ill) and who can accommodate overnights on occasion (with notice). However, they'd be happy to find other coverage for those times if their perfect match doesn't have that flexibility, so please still apply, even if that might not work for you. At this time they're thinking a super big, animated personality probably won't be the right fit, and would prefer someone a bit calmer. It's $30/hour gross and the family is happy to guarantee 20 hours per week.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

The ideal sitter also needs to be proactive, detail-oriented and very organized! You can keep him calm and you’re good at gently guiding the kids in your care. You love spending your time with kids this age, and you love to play! They need someone really reliable, and dependable to provide them with consistent childcare coverage. At this time they're thinking a super big, animated personality probably won't be the right fit, and would prefer someone a bit calmer.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM. The ideal candidate has flexibility for full days when the boy is out of school for school holidays, or if he's mildly ill, and for occasional overnights as well. However, these are not necessarily required.

About the Children

Boy, 4.5: In preschool! He’s a pretty mellow kid, but he’s still a toddler and needs managing sometimes. Super smart. He’s so creative and interactive and he's been that way from the start!

Responsibilities

This is a pretty straightforward after-school role! You'll start the day with school pick-up and take him to any activities he might have. Afterward, you'll head home, decompress from the day, and put together a simple dinner for the little guy. You'll tidy up after, help out with a simple household task or two (for example, unloading his backpack, loading/unloading the dishwasher, etc), and head home for the day! It would be ideal for them to find a nanny who is flexible for full days when he's out of school (on school holidays, or if he's mildly ill) and who can accommodate overnights on occasion (with notice). However, if that might not work for you, please still apply and let us know. They're open to looking for other options for those times if needed.
