You can choose Tuesday sand Thursdays, or Thursdays and Fridays, from 2 PM to 6 PM,, plus date nights and occasional sitting, if it helps you! Let us know what you need. They're prioritizing candidates that live close by so all you local Washington Heights sitters, this job is for you.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

Mom will be prioritizing candidates who have shorter commute times and live close-by! Have you worked with a 6 or 7 year old before? Do you have that flexibility (and magic) to really tune into a kid this age? They're looking for somebody who can anticipate his needs! For example, did you wash your hands? Do you need to use the bathroom! Somebody who knows to grab the water bottle before heading to the park. Are you into sports? If you want to play Basketball in the park, this guy will be your best friend! What else? Mom says she's looking for a person that is: athletic, capable, organized, responsible, fun, reasonable with rule setting, with great boundaries!

Schedule

Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:00- 6:00 PM OR Thursdays and Fridays 2:00-6:00 PM A third day may be added later.

About the Children

7-year-old, boy: He has a nut allergy to three different nuts (cashew, pistachio, hazelnuts). This is important, as it means he can’t eat random snacks if offered by other kids. He’s managed by an Epipen and Benadryl, but he’s only ever had to use his epipen once (versus his Benadryl which they have used from time to time!). He’s awesome. He’ s super into the book “Dog Man” (so good!). His Lego obsession is fading but the house is still packed with Legos. He’s been into drawing lately, but not if you ask him to do it and direct him towards it. It’s more unstructured and active. He’s not picky about food. He has super good friends in their building and all around the neighborhood. He’s chatty. He likes competitive card games. He would love to play a long game of monopoly with you! He’s a first grader. He’s really determined to play basket ball!

Responsibilities

You'll arrive at the boys' school (across the street from their apartment) at 2:00 PM. Then it's home and hanging out! The position requires some light household maintenance (unpacking school lunch and folders, washing out of the days various food containers, and preparation of an after-school snack, which will always be provided). The sitter is expected to enforce washing hands and a certain amount of organization and confidence around hanging coats and unpacking the days folders, putting mittens away, etc. Additional household cleaning, beyond cleaning up after a game or activity they’ve engaged in, is not expected. Bathing is not expected

Additional Information

This little guy has nut allergies and you'll need to carry an epipen with him, which Mom will show you how to use.
