Overview

This wonderful new Smart Sitting family took a little pause in their search, but they're back now and ready to meet you! They have have a super spunky one year old boy and are looking for a solid 40 hours of care per week, making this an awesome full-time position for those of you who love toddlers! What's better? You'll have afternoons to yourself on Mondays and Fridays! Yay! They live near Lincoln Center and are looking for a highly engaging caregiver for their little dude. You'll be on your feet a lot with this guy,, taking him to classes, the park and more! Mom is looking for a candidate who will sit with him, talk with him, and get on his level,. You'll play with him a lot and take him to fun activities. They are a strict no screens household (they don't want him to see your phone under any circumstances). Beyond that, all the typical nanny duties will apply here, like tidying up, pitching in, and keeping up with things like loading and unloading the dishwasher, assisting with meal prep, etc. It's $30/hour gross (paid on the books), plus PTO, Sick Time, and a MetroCard! The Ideal Sitter for this Job

They are looking for reliability. Mom is a psychologist and sees clients and she does not have the flexibility to move things around to accommodate last minute schedule changes. One the flip side, she is very able and happy to accommodate the occasional day off for a doctor's appointment, or your vacation with advanced notice! Beyond that, the family is looking for somebody highly active, who can keep up with this little guy, as well as somebody super engaging. If you love toddlers and exploring their world with them, love to take them out, and love to create fun activities for them, this is definitely the position for you. This little guy has a severe food allergy, so somebody who can really keep on top of that is needed. For example, if you take him to the playroom, it's eyes on, hands on - he can't randomly pick up another kid's snack because it could be pretty catastrophic. Finally, they're looking for somebody with great professionalism! Somebody who has great professional boundaries and really loves their job.

Schedule

Monday & Fridays: 8 A.M - 1 P.M, Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday: 8 A.M - 6 P.M.

About the Children

Boy, 1: Mom says if you Google "Monkey" - that's him! He's a really cutie. He climbs on EVERYTHING! He's a barrel of fun. Has severe food allergies. He loves to dance to music and is just starting to stand independently. He enjoys spending time at the playground finding sticks and rocks or crawling in the grass. He is very playful and is well acclimated to playing with other children!

Responsibilities

It's all about engagement, engagement, engagement. If you love toddlers, this is going to be a wonderful position for you, as you take him through some major milestones! You'll take him to classes, play with him at home, take him out to explore the world and more. Beyond that, they're looking for a nanny to do the typical household tasks like keeping the place tidy, picking up and organizing his toys, as well as making use of his nap time to keep the place in good working order. But first and foremost, Mom really wants somebody who is excited to be working him and can keep him engaged. If the boy is sick, Mom does need the nanny to come in and care for him, barring something serious like Covid or the Flu.

Additional Information

The family does spend some weeks in the summer in the Hamptons and occasionally would love a person who can travel there for the day (but no overnights!). They'd love to find somebody who can travel with them domestically and internationally. This little guy has severe food allergies.
