Overview

This down-to-earth and busy Smart Family is looking for an after-school superstar to join their team. They're looking for a no-nonsense after-school sitter who can keep their dudes on top of homework, staying fed, and organized! Nannies with experience in a school setting, or as a camp counselor have done well in this position before. If you're all about running a tight ship and love to have a positive impact on a family, this job is for you! It's a straightforward 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Monday through Friday position with one night each week that will go a bit later (car service home after 8 P.M.!). The family is happy to guarantee 20 hours/week and the position will run until June. There is an option to work in the summer, halftime.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

Reliability is key here! Dad works from home and does jump in sometimes, but they're really looking for a person who can be their afternoon backbone! Because the boys are older now, they are looking for somebody with a college degree, who can help them with homework - not like tutoring, but like homework management. Beyond that, comfortability navigating the afternoon schedule and getting them from point A to point B.

Schedule

Monday-Friday 3 PM to 7 PM Plus a late date night once a week. Flexibility to work with the boys on days off from school is appreciated! The family is happy to guarantee 20 hours/week

About the Children

They are some really good kids, two 12 year old twin boys, and they've matured a lot in the last year. Both are also big for their age, they’re very tall! Over five feet already! They are very good friends but they go to different schools. One is into tennis and music! The other one stays in an after-school program most afternoons and does well there. They both need help staying on top of homework. This is a tender age and they're looking for somebody who understands that and has experience with tweens!

Responsibilities

The boys go to different schools, and you'll be responsible for picking one of them up and bringing him to various after-school activities and then making sure he does his homework first thing (no exceptions!). It's all about getting the boys where they need to be, fed, and homeworked! Despite not being particularly sporty, the parents like to keep them involved in sports and various after-school activities! There are no household chores per se but being tidy and pitching in when you see the house needs that, is appreciated! For example, if dinner is over, you'll clear the plates. They won't expect you to do laundry or anything a house keeper does. It would also be amazing if you could help the boys pick up after themselves.
