LIGHT PART TIME NANNY: 1 baby in Carroll Gardens!
Overview
Are you a playful, artistic, and fun nanny who loves one-on-one time with a baby? Are you really engaging and have the energy to keep up with a super active little one who craves lots of stimulation? Would you love spending your days singing the Itsy Bitsy Spider, coming up with fun voices at story time, or initiating baby's first dance party? This is the job for you! This SmartFamily in Carroll Gardens is looking for a new nanny starting around January 20 for their almost 1-year-old son. It's the ideal position for an experienced part-time nanny looking for morning hours, so apply today before it's gone. There will be some weeks that the family won't need care because Dad will be home from work and you'll be off for the week; however, they will usually tell you months in advance so you can plan for it. They'd also love to find someone with an Early Childhood Education or STEM background if possible, but it's not necessarily required. It's $30/hour, and the family is happy to offer 12-16 hours/week.
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
The ideal nanny for this position is loving, energetic, and creative. They'd love to find someone with an Early Childhood Education or STEM background as well if possible, but it's not required. You're also super active to keep up with a little one this age! Their last nanny felt like part of the family, and loved their son, and they'd love to find another great relationship like this one. They want someone incredibly fun and engaging. The family loves the hardworking attitude and flexibility that often comes with performers. If you have any kind of background in education or teaching, even a past baby music class instructor or theatre camp counselor, they'd love to hear about it! Updated CPR certification and all updated vaccines are required (the family is immunocompromised and appreciates their nanny taking this seriously).
Schedule
Tuesday - Thursday Ideally, 10 am to 2 pm or 10 am to 3pm However, they can be flexible for another window of 4-5 hours for the right candidate.
About the Children
Boy, almost 1 year: Always on the go, he's a little sponge who wants to learn everything he can. With his first birthday coming up, he's getting very mobile, curious, and craves a lot of attention and play time.
Responsibilities
The family is looking for someone who enjoys being super engaged in their little one's development (motor skills, verbal skills, mental and physical development). They're also looking for their nanny to do some light household tasks during the little guy's naps, including washing bottles, baby laundry, tidying up the play area/the child's room, and helping to prepare his soft solids. Their last nanny also did the parent's laundry, so this would be a nice to have, but is not required. The Mom will be working from home, so a nanny who is respectful of a work-from-home parent is ideal. Both parents are immunocompromised and request that the nanny never come in when sick (and they won't ask you to come in when they're sick as well). There will be some weeks that the family won't need care because Dad will be home from work and you'll be off for the week; however, they will usually tell you months in advance so you can plan for it. Their past sitter used those weeks to cram in lots of auditions and classes, and that worked well for both of them!
Additional Information
Updated CPR certification and all updated vaccines are required (the family is immunocompromised and appreciates their nanny taking this seriously). They're also looking for someone who will be very mindful of never coming to work sick.
