LIGHT PART TIME NANNY: 2 kids in Midwood, Brooklyn!
Overview
Are you a super loving and compassionate caregiver? This new SmartFamily is looking for a light part-time nanny to care for their two boys, ages 3 and 7. They're located in Midwood, and are looking for someone in the afternoons, Monday through Friday. Ideally, they're looking to start in January, but they might be willing to consider starting a bit sooner if the right candidate needed that. Their oldest is a little perfectionist, so they'd love someone who can help him not be so hard on himself, and navigate those big emotions. They'd also love someone who can provide some homework help! It's $30 to $35/hour and the family is happy to guarantee 15 hours per week.
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
You have experience with multiples and sibling dynamics! They both will likely want attention at the same time and pull you in two different directions, so experience with multiple kids in past long-term positions will be helpful in this role. Otherwise, you're a mature, experienced individual who is responsible and safety-conscious. You're patient, and can help a child with big feelings feel comfortable and seen, and help him navigate how to cope with them.
Schedule
Monday through Friday 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM Ideally, they'd love to find someone with the flexibility to come on a random morning on occasion when one of the parents has an early work meeting.
About the Children
Boy, 7: Can be a little perfectionist, and gets frustrated easily with school. Help him be in touch with emotions and accept them, but manage and cope with them. Boy, 3: Wiz kid! He is already starting to read, and is super advanced!
Responsibilities
You'll start the day with school pickup! The boys go to separate schools, but they're pretty close to each other. You'll get one at 4:30, and then walk over to the other to get his brother at 4:45. You'll bring them both home, help with eldest’s homework, and make sure it gets done. His little brother doesn't have homework quite yet, but they'd love for you to do some stimulating activities with him, like practicing his tracing or reading together. You won't need to prepare dinner, just make sure that they eat a healthy snack. If you have the flexibility to come on a random morning on occasion when one of the parents has an early work meeting, that would be very helpful!
