Overview

This wonderful returning UES family is seeking a part-time nanny to join their team! We adore this family and their current daytime Nanny/Household Manager, with whom you’ll work closely to keep the family organized and on schedule. They have two children, ages 9 and 5, and are looking for a highly organized, intuitive, and reliable candidate to help them Monday through Friday during afterschool and evening hours, with 30 guaranteed hours per week. The role requires the ability to swim and an up-to-date CPR certification. A willingness to travel with the family is a plus, but not required. It’s $30 to $35/hour, depending on experience. PTO, Sick Time, Transit Benefit, Major holidays off, and 401K with an up to 3% match! The position begins on January 15, 2025.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

The children have had the same evening sitter for a number of years, and some adjustment time and sensitivity to how they’ll be feeling about the transition to a new sitter will be important. The ideal candidate for this position has lots of experience with young school-age children and can manage multiple children of varying ages at the same time. The family is looking for someone who is active and energetic and who is also super organized and pays great attention to detail, since they will be managing a busy after-school schedule for the kids. A caring and nurturing sitter is also very important for this role. The children have developed loving long-term relationships with all their nannies, and someone who is interested in truly bonding with the children is a must! The family also wants to ensure that the sitter for this position can be comfortable caring for the kids if they were to get sick and is comfortable administering medications/caring for them however needed! Professionalism and reliability are a must for this role. Mom and Dad have very busy and demanding jobs, and they’re looking for a provider who understands how much the family will depend on them. All of you incredibly organized and structured nannies out there will thrive in this role and fit right in!

Schedule

Monday-Friday 2:30 PM to 8:30 PM Flexibility and interest in occasional additional sitting hours is preferred! They are happy to guarantee 30 hours/week!

About the Children

The family has two children, 9 and 5. They both have a full extracurricular schedule and bringing them to and from their various afterschool activities is a big part of this position. They’re well-rounded and active kids, and they do best with nannies that are a mix of creative, fun, patient, and kind, with the ability to maintain loving yet firm boundaries.

Responsibilities

This role encompasses all the the traditional after-school duties, including school pick-ups, transporting the kids to activities, homework assistance, and fun creative play. In addition, the ideal candidate will be interested in occasional family assistant responsibilities, such as keeping the children’s rooms and common areas organized and tidy, prepping children’s meals and occasional errands. If the family is traveling, your role will shift to more of the family assistant responsibilities.
