UPDATED HOURS: PART-TIME: One 4 year old girl on the UES!
Overview
This lovely new SmartFamily is fresh to NYC after many years abroad. They are looking for part-time after-school and weekend support for their sweet four year old girl. She speaks French, English, and Arabic fluently, and currently attends a French immersion school on the UES. She is adjusting to the big move, and the family is hoping for a loving, responsible, and creative nanny to help her with this transition. They’d love someone who is also able to assist with light, kid-related tasks–particularly dinner prep–as well. Mom and dad juggle very busy schedules, so the ability to accommodate occasional last minute needs is a huge plus (and would be compensated accordingly). Also, they’d love someone willing to travel. Rate is $30-$40 DOE. They're happy to provide benefits, to be discussed. They'd also love a nanny who could potentially travel with them internationally! They're looking to start meeting candidates ASAP.
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
This family would love someone loving, patient, and calm. They want a nanny who can really meet their little girl on her imaginative level, while also maintaining good structure and boundaries. This little one will do great with someone who can have fun and play, but will also give her lots of heads up about transitions and schedule (ie, plenty of time warnings when it’s time to leave the playground, when it’s time to start doing bedtime routine, etc). Scheduling flexibility is a big plus for mom and dad, as is willingness to travel.
Schedule
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Saturday or Sunday, 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM Flexibility to accommodate schedule changes is helpful, but not a requirement. They view it as a bonus and will pay accordingly.
About the Children
Girl, 4: She is super smart and full of energy! She loves creative, active play. She will do great with someone who can guide her in hands-on, imaginative activities, while also maintaining structure and loving boundaries. She is missing her old home a lot, so finding someone she really connects with during this time is key. She speaks French, English, and Arabic fluently, and currently attends a French immersion school on the UES.
Responsibilities
The day would begin with light, kid-related tasks at 2 pm. This could look like kid-laundry, dinner shopping and prep, or organizing toys and clothes. Then, school pickup is at 3:30. You’ll make sure she gets to any activities or play dates safely, and then is home a bit before six and ready to eat dinner when mom or dad get home! On the weekends, you’ll find some sweet, structured activities for her to do during the day, before doing dinner and the bedtime routine.
