FULL-TIME: One-year-old girl in the West Village, Mon-Wed
Overview
This is a fantastic opportunity with a lovely new family in the West Village. Native and Fluent Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply! They have a sweet and giggly one-year-old girl. For the past year, they've been working with a newborn care specialist and are now looking for a full-time nanny to transition in and work Monday through Wednesday, 7 AM to 7 PM, for a total of 36 hours/week. There will also be an additional nanny on your team, who will work Thursday and Fridays. Mom is a native Spanish speaker and they'd ideally love to find somebody who can continue her bilingual language skills, however it's not required. They are looking for an experienced, well rounded nanny who will be dedicated to the their daughter's cognitive, social, and physical development. They travel domestically to places like Jackson Hole, as well as internationally, and they have a home in the Hamptons, where they reside from June through August, plus other holidays. The position becomes live-in in the summer. You'll stay there Monday through Wednesday and go home for Thursday through Sunday. It's $30 to $40/hour plus benefits. They will occasionally need overnight help as well, in their home. You must be passport ready, have a valid driver's license, and the ability to swim (their home in the Hamptons has a pool). They are primarily focused on fit! They're looking for a late February start date, so apply today.
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
The ideal nanny will have at least five years of experience in similar roles and with a similar age group. For this role, the family is looking for previous long-term commitments that lasted a few years. Love of food and alignment on introducing their daughter to many different types of food and allergens is essential. Ideally, you'll also have familiarity with developmental milestones for this age group. A valid passport and passion for the travel required in this role are key! You should also know how to swim and have a valid driver's license.
Schedule
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 7 AM to 7 PM The family is happy to guarantee 36 hours/week, with flexibility to stay late occasionally, and flexibility to travel with the family outside of your occasional schedule international and domestically. The family relocates to Bridgehampton in the summer and the position will become live-in, Monday through Wednesday. You'll go home for Thursday through Sunday. Some work on holidays is required. The exact schedule will be a conversation between you, the family, and the Thur/Fri nanny.
About the Children
1-year-old, girl: She's very curious! She's hyper aware and loves to observe people. She gets hyper focused on whatever she does and can be very determined. She loves to laugh. When not being a sweet, giggly girl, she typically stays very calm. She learns Spanish from her Mom and English from her Dad.
Responsibilities
You'll arrive and wake the baby up, or she'll already be up. You'll then prepare her breakfast and get her dressed and ready for the day. She eats lunch at 12:30 PM. Both parents work very full-time jobs outside of the home, so you'll work independently and be responsible for everything related to the girl, like laundry, preparing her food, tidying up her areas, and common areas, loading and unloading the dishwasher and more. The family may occasionally ask for family related tasks as well. Mom and Dad love good food and love cooking! It's very important to them to find a nanny who enjoys cooking as well and shares their commitment to expanding their little one's palette. They are very passionate about introducing common allergen foods to her, like eggs, shellfish, nuts of all kinds and more. She has already eaten eggs, shrimp, and octopus to name a few! They're looking for somebody who is aligned on that and will introduce and re-introduce new foods to her. Beyond that, in the beginning of the position, you'll closely follow the schedule and routine that their newborn care specialist has set.
Additional Information
