This new SmartFamily is seeking a light part-time caregiver for their two lovely girls in Bed–Stuy, starting ASAP. Mom is expecting their little sibling this spring, and would love some help with her oldest kids. If you are willing to drive the kids in their car, that's a big plus! It's $30 to $35/hour ($240 to $420/week for 9-12 hours/week guaranteed).

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

This family is looking for someone really creative and artistic, as the girls love the arts. The ideal sitter for this role also enjoys being active and coming up with fun activities to do with the kids in their care! Experience with sibling dynamics would also be helpful in this role. Finally, they'd love to find a sitter who can drive, and they'll be prioritizing candidates who are comfortable with that! However, it's not a requirement for the role.

Schedule

Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays 2/3 PM to 6/7 PM They may want to add on Tuesdays/Thursdays at some point, but understand if that doesn't work for you. Mom is about to have their little sibling this spring, and would love to find a sitter who is comfortable with an overnight or two when the time comes for them to head to the hospital.

About the Children

Girl, 2: The little one! Girl, 6: The big sister! Both girls are very active and love to be outside, but in the winter, they'd love for you to come up with some fun indoor activities too. They get along very well, but the younger one will take things from the other, and they fight like sisters sometimes. They’re really bright and smart, both love to sing and dance. These kiddos love artistic projects! They enjoy picnics outside and love to run around. Both girls also love drawing and being read to, and they thrive in routine.

Responsibilities

The day starts with school pick up, or depending on the day, pick up from an after school activity! In free time, you'll engage the children either out in the fresh air, but you can do indoor activities too, or supervise play dates. Since they love artistic activities, maybe you come in with a super fun snowflake craft, have a dance party, or help them make cards for a friend's birthday. They're super active little girls, so maybe once the weather gets a bit warmer, they're really looking for someone who loves to, for example, play tag in the park to their hearts' content! Afterwards, you'll give them dinner (Mom and Dad will have something ready, you just need to heat it up!) and help the girls with bath time. Later in the spring when their little sibling comes, their parents would love to find a sitter comfortable staying overnight for a night or two when they're away at the hospital.
