Overview

We adore this very sweet family in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn! It's Mom, Dad, their 3 year old daughter, and 7 month old twinfants, a boy and a girl. They're looking for a new nanny to join their team and work with the twins primarily (though there will be the occasional afternoon or day off from school with the 3 year old). They're looking for an incredibly reliable, proactive, and energetic nanny who has excellent and open communication skills. Twin experience preferred! They align best with nannies who believe in using logical consequences, not arbitrary punishment (Ex. “If you don’t put your toys away now, we won’t have time to read books before bed” – instead of “there will be no dessert:). They also believe in naming feelings and encouraging children to express what they feel, while holding the boundary (Ex. “I know you feel disappointed, it’s hard to stop playing when it’s time to go - and it’s time to leave the playground now”). Does this sound like you? It's $30 to $35/hour on the books plus benefits. They offer a higher hourly rate on the occasional day when you're with all three kids. They're looking to get meet candidates and hire as soon as possible, so don't delay in applying!

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

Experience with twins is ideal! Experience with multiples under 3 would also be a preference. Overall, they're looking for super reliability! Mom and Dad both have busy jobs and they can not absorb frequent last minute call outs, as they have a cascading impact on their professional and personal lives. This a super warm, sweet and generous family and they're looking for somebody equally warm, loving and generous. This position is best for an energetic nanny who can engage with these two cuties and guide them through all of their important milestones!

Schedule

Monday through Thursday: 8 AM to 6 P.M. Friday, 8 A.M. to 5 P.M.

About the Children

Twins, boy and girl, 7 months old Girl, 3 years old: You'll only be with her very occasionally. Her interests change frequently, but she's currently obsessed with unicorns! If you follow her lead with magna-tiles, she'll cherish you endlessly.

Responsibilities

As the twin's nanny, you'll provide all aspects of daily care, including feeding (bottles, and as applicable, preparing and feeding meals and snacks), changing diapers and toileting, facilitating nap time, facilitating fine motor skills, playtime, reading books, etc. You'll take the twins on outings outside, as the weather allows. You'll also be responsible for maintaining and cleaning supplies, including washing all bottles and children’s dishes, restocking changing table supplies, putting all toys away at end of day, cleaning out the stroller at end of day, and doing the children’s laundry. As with any nanny job, light housekeeping is expected, including tidying the kitchen at end of every shift (dishes in dishwasher, countertops wiped, floor swept), kitchen and diaper trash taken out to hall trash closet when full, and the dining area cleaned after feeding, etc. The family may ask you to occasionally pick up a few groceries, prescription medication, dry cleaning, etc. They may also ask for occasional afternoon school pick-up and care of their 3 year old daughter (they offer a higher hourly rate when watching all three children).
