Are you looking for an awesome after-school position in downtown Manhattan, with a family that values their nannies and makes long-term commitments? We have a great opportunity for you! This family is looking for their next great match. It's a child focused position, they're more than happy to flex up and give more hours, for the right person. It's all about fit! They have two sweet kiddos, a 3 year old boy, and a 6 year old girl. They're looking for a nanny to spend time primarily focused on the girl. There will be a few hours at night though where you're with both kids, doing dinner and bed-time, so comfortability with multiples is important. You'll be working alongside their full-time housekeeper, so a team player mentality is important. Dad is on the road a lot so they're looking for reliability and consistent support. If you're interested in a match that stays steady for a few years, this is the position for you! It's $30 to $35/hour, ideally for 25 hours/week, but if you need more, they're happy to do that! The Ideal Sitter for this Job

They would really love someone who is comfortable with academic support, and has tutoring experience or a teaching degree. Dad says they're looking for somebody who can provide "emotional scaffolding" for their daughter. Somebody sensitive, calm but connected, and somebody who can help her figure out who she is and who she wants to be in the world! Somebody with patience who will help her connect to her own feelings and thoughts. But you're also fun! Like a mentor or role model. Being a team player is also important, since you'll be working alongside their full-time housekeeper.

Schedule

Monday through Friday 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. The family is happy to guarantee at least 25 hours/week, but can go up for the right candidate.

About the Children

Girl, 6: In Kindergarten in TriBeCA. She’s sweet, and a little shy. Her parents working on drawing her out. They’re focusing on fostering her independence, versus following her peers and doing whatever they are doing. She’s healthy, active, and curious. She has a little bit of an attention deficit, but does great with gentle redirection. Boy, 3: He goes to pre-school and does a half day, 5 days/week. The family's housekeeper will be in charge of his care until 6 PM most days. He’s just getting into things and they're learning about his interests.

Responsibilities

The family has a full-time housekeeper and she'll be with the boy until about 6 PM, which leaves you to pick-up the girl from school, take her to activities and get her home for dinner. From 6 PM to 8 PM there will be a transitional period, with the housekeeper leaving and you doing dinner and the bed time routine. Occasionally, you'll help with meal prep and laundry for the kids!
