PART-TIME: Two boys, 8 and 4, in FiDi!
Overview
This lovely new Smart Family is looking for an energetic, kind, attentive nanny to care for their two sweet boys. These little guys are super loving, creative and active, and mom and dad want to prioritize long-term relationships and a great fit for the boys. Someone who will be kid-centered, with their attention on the kids 100% of the time is the goal. They have a housekeeper so light house-work tasks are not expected or required. They’d much rather you play the floor is lava, draw or read stories than meal prep or do laundry etc. Mom and dad want someone who will engage the kids, while also encouraging them to play and explore on their own–they’re both really creative kids. The routine will be a standard after-school schedule, involving pickup, travel to activities, then home and getting the boys settled and fed. Someone who has tutoring or teaching experience would be wonderful, as they’d love the nanny to help their oldest boy prep for his state standardized tests coming up. They’d also appreciate flexibility to cover on sick days or days off from school. But most of all, they’re looking for someone who will be really excited about partnering with their family for a long time. The family is offering $30-35 / hour DOE. There may be room for some flex in rate if you have tutoring or teaching experience. They can guarantee 20 hours per week, PTO, and sick time. Mom and dad would like to begin interviews ASAP, so apply today!
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
Mom and dad would love someone super active, kind, and creative to hang out with their two little ones! Someone who can play tag and make jokes with their four year old, then draw a storybook with the eight year old would be perfect. They’d love to find someone who has tutoring or teaching experience–so if that’s you, please apply! Their boys are so sweet and active, and really just want a loving playmate to hang out with–someone who will keep them safe and make sure they feel loved and supported. The role will continue through the summer, and mom and dad are hoping for a long-term relationship to flourish.
Schedule
Tuesday through Friday 2:15 pm-7:15 pm The family will guarantee 20 hours per week. Flexibility to cover on days off from school (with notice) is really appreciated. There may be flexibility to add hours down the line, for the right fit.
About the Children
Boy, 8: Their oldest is exceptionally smart, sensitive, and on the quieter side. Definitely more of an introvert, but really connects with caregivers who are fun and gentle. He’s very creative, so someone who might sit down with him and draw, or make up stories, would be wonderful. He plays golf, tennis, and takes piano lessons. They’d love someone to help him begin to prepare for upcoming state standardized tests. Boy, 4: This little guy is VERY outgoing, and very outspoken. He has a lot of opinions and will let you know them! He’s a little comedian, always cracking jokes and absolutely loves to laugh. Currently he does martial arts, and tennis, and will begin golf in February.
Responsibilities
Each day will begin with pickup for the youngest at 2:15, then pickup for the 8 year old at 2:45. Then, off to afterschool activities for the afternoon! Everything is within ten minutes of walking distance of their school and home, though this might change in the fall as the youngest may begin Kindergarten uptown. Comfort on the subway with the two boys is important, even though at most points you’ll be walking. Mom and dad want someone to actively engage the boys if there is an afternoon off, either spending time outside or having creative play time at home. They also have a membership at the Nexus Club, so taking the boys there and supervising play is always an option as well.
