Do you love getting to witness lots of "firsts" and seeing a little baby grow into their next phase? Are you an expert with enriching a little one's development, and love getting to be a part of it? Do you thrive when jamming with a little one to the ABCs and Baby Beluga? This sweet new SmartFamily on the Upper West Side is looking for a stellar new light part-time nanny to care for their adorable, curious 6-month-old girl. At this time, they're thinking that a shift in the late mornings/early afternoons, three weekdays per week would be ideal, and are flexible on which days they are for the right person. If you can come in for an occasional Saturday date night, they'd love to have you then as well. You're warm, very experienced and love working with babies this age! You're also knowledgable about their developmental stages, updated on infant CPR and all your vaccines as well. It's $30 to $35/hour and the family is happy to offer 12+ hours/week guaranteed.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

You're experienced with babies this age! That means you know how to prepare breastmilk without instruction, understand baby's developmental phases and how to help her advance into the next one, you're comfortable putting her down for naps, etc. While this is the case for any infant role, the family wants us to be super clear that being a non-smoker (even outside of work) is required. You're loving, flexible and will follow the parents' lead when it comes to things like their parenting strategies and preferences with sleep training. They’re doing the Happy Sleeper method, and are looking for a nanny who can follow that as well!

Schedule

They're thinking they'd like about 3 weekdays per week, but they're flexible on which ones! If you can only do 2, or need 4, please also let us know, as the family might be flexible on this too for the right person. 10 AM to 2 PM or 9 AM to 1 PM. If you can also help out on a Saturday night date night, they'd also be excited to have you then too! If not, it's not a dealbreaker.

About the Children

Girl, 7 months: She’s really doing great, she's a happy, calm baby. Likes people and is social, but is suddenly becoming more attached to Mama. Mom really wants to socialize her as much as possible. Really smart, loves to be read to, super motivated and wants to do all the new things. Would do really well with someone who genuinely would love to help her advance.

Responsibilities

All the baby things! You'll be keeping baby on her routine, and helping her thrive in her development. They're looking for someone who will also help with baby-related household tasks, like her laundry, washing bottles and pump parts, tidying her things, and making solid baby food. They are in an elevator building, so you won't need to worry about lugging the stroller at all if you happen to take the baby out.

Additional Information

This family is looking for someone who is Covid vaxxed and boosted, and updated on their flu shot, TDAP and infant CPR certification.
