Looking to add some relaxing upstate life to your week? Do you love babies, dogs, and scenic train rides where you get to read a book or catch-up on podcasts? Do you love a supportive role with a family, where each day is a little different? We have an amazing opportunity! This family just welcomed their first baby into the world a few months ago and currently split their time between Bedford (about an hour train ride from Grand Central) and the West Village. They still have their newborn care specialist working with them and have found the schedule works great for her, but they will value your opinion and feedback and want to make sure the schedule works for you too! Currently, they leave Bedford on Monday, and spending Monday evening through Thursday morning in NYC. Thursday afternoon, it's back to Bedford for a long weekend. The dogs go too, so it's a family affair! The position is all about supporting baby and Mom, so this will be a great role for candidates interested in both infant care and family support. It's $30 to $35/hour plus benefits. We're looking for fully vaccinated candidates, including TDAP, flu, and Covid, with at least one (ideally more) newborn reference. The Ideal Sitter for this Job

A team player is an absolute essential piece for this role! As is a good communicator. The family is excited about trying out this hybrid role but also will want to know how it's going for you. They're open to suggestions and are flexible! Beyond that they're looking for somebody who is truly adaptable. If you like each day to be a little different, this will be great for you. Beyond that, you'll want all the typical newborn role requirements - a newborn reference, vaccinations, and up to date infant CPR.

Schedule

Monday through Friday 8 AM/9 AM to 4 PM/5PM The family is happy to guarantee 40 hours/week.

About the Children

Responsibilities

You'll arrive in Bedford on Monday morning, helping Mom and Baby and the dogs into the car. From there, you'll all head to NYC together. Tuesday and Wednesday are in NYC and are typical days, where you'll work with the baby, while Mom goes about her day, or you'll help with baby related tasks, while Mom gets some quality time with the baby. Thursday, you'll arrive at their place in the West Village and you'll commute to Bedford with Mom, the baby, and the dogs and then take the train home. Friday will be in Bedford.

Additional Information

You must have a valid driver's license. You must have proof of the TDAP vaccine in the past ten years, or willingness to update it plus a current flu shot and covid vaccines. the family has three dogs.
