HEAVY PART-TIME, SHORT-TERM: One infant in Mar Vista, Los Angeles. $990 to $1140/week
Overview
This wonderful family in Mar Vista just welcomed their third child - another girl! Mom is home and recovering but she could really use some help while she adjusts to life with three kids. It's short-term, through June, before the family makes a big cross country move. If you're passionate about helping postpartum Moms, love to help busy families, love to work with infants, and are looking for something to get you through June, this could be a great fit. While there are three kids at home, this position will focus solely on the baby and will allow Mom to spend quality time her older two daughters in the afternoon. It's $33 to $38/hour. They're looking to get started around March 15th, so apply soon.
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
The ideal nanny for this position will up-to-date and can provide proof of vaccines, including MMR, TDAP and Flu. A recent Covid booster is a nice to have, but not required. You'll also need to have an up-to-date infant CPR certification. For this position, we'll be looking for previous newborn experience and a minimum of one newborn reference, though more is appreciated. Knowledge of newborn care is essential. Mom LOVES an infant nanny that has an opinion. If you're the nanny that loves to make a suggestion, Mom will be all ears. Even through this is their third child, the family still values advice and they love to work with nannies that are clearly passionate and knowledgeable about their job. If you're up to date with the recent trends and baby equipment, this is the position for you
Schedule
Monday through Friday 11 AM to 5 PM or 12 PM to 5 PM They can offer 30 or 25 hours/week
About the Children
4 weeks old, girl: She's 100% breast milk fed and they're using a combination of nursing and bottles. They're still fast and loose with naps. They would love for the baby to have a more established schedule in a few months time, perhaps before the leave in June.
Responsibilities
Mom is home and happy to be with the baby in the mornings. You'll arrive around 11 AM or 12 PM to help with anything Mom needs, before she heads to pick-up the older girls at school around 1:00 PM (their pick-up is at 1:30 PM). While Mom is with the girls, taking them to after-school activities, it's baby time for you! When baby is awake, you'll help feed her, play with her, read her books etc. When baby is sleeping, which is a lot right now, you'll help out around the house with baby related and household tasks. Loading the dishwasher, doing laundry for the older girls, and generally tidying up will all be so super helpful for Mom!
