SHORT TERM, PART-TIME OR FULL TIME NANNY: 1 baby girl in Washington Heights!

Overview

Are you a baby wizard? Do you cherish watching a baby jump from one developmental stage to another, even if you're only together for a few months? This new SmartFamily would love to meet you! Starting at the end of March, they would love to find a nurturing, loving, and highly experienced baby nanny to work short-term with their baby girl, who will be 6 months at the start of the nanny's time with her. The position will go until at least June 30, but may extend to September 1 depending on their needs (and they'll let you know as soon as they do). They also have a 2 year old boy, but he's in daycare, so you'll just be with his sister, with rare exceptions. If you have great experience nannying for 6 month olds, and love watching them grow, apply today! The parents are eager to find someone ASAP and would love to get started on interviews, so apply to this one today before it's gone. They're offering $33 to $35/hour and can guarantee 27+ hours per week.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

You love engaging babies this age, maybe with lots of verses of The Wheels On the Bus or snuggling together reading Goodnight Moon. The parents don't follow super specific parenting styles; they're more so prioritizing someone highly responsible with great experience with infants this age (2+ years nanny experience) who, above all, will make her feel really safe and loved. You're super knowledgable about little ones this age and where they should be heading with their development, and you're passionate about doing everything you can to help them get there.

Schedule

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 8 am to 5 pm. Potential option to increase to M-F for the right candidate.

About the Children

Girl, 5 months: Has breastmilk, but will likely be trying some new foods before you start. Last time we spoke to the parents, she was not sleeping through the night yet. Not the best napper; more of a power napper. Right now, they’re in a phase with some tummy troubles as well. Boy, 2: In daycare all day! You'll rarely be spending time together, unless he's home mildly sick or school is out for a random holiday.

Responsibilities

All the baby things! You'll spend the day caring for their little girl and following a general daily schedule, caring for everything from feedings to diaper changes, to tummy time and naps. You'll sing her lullabies, point out the world around her, and do everything you can to help her thrive and move into her next phases of development. They’re not wildly strict on a set schedule for the baby (for example, she doesn't have to go down exactly at 11:45 am), but they try to keep her to a general schedule, being flexible to follow baby's cues. As for the stroller situation, they're in an elevator building so you won't need to worry about hauling it up the stairs. They haven’t really used a stroller yet though, and for now, prefer she's taken out in a Baby Bjorn.

Additional Information

They'd like someone Covid vaxxed and boosted, ideally with this year's flu shot as well. This position starts soon at the end of March, and the parents are prioritizing starting interviews ASAP, so apply today before it's gone!
