SHORT TERM FULL-TIME NANNY: 3 month old girl on the Lower East Side!
Overview
This new SmartFamily is looking a short term superstar to care for their baby for a few months. They're moving to London at the end of this spring, so they only need someone until then, but are in need of someone to help them fill this gap between their move and when Mom goes back to work. The ideal candidate for this role has recent full time experience with a 3 month old baby and truly loves that quality time with a sweet little infant. You're excited to go to work every morning, and can't wait for tummy time, lullabies and reading stories together. This family is moving extremely quickly, and would ideally be looking to start between March 15 and April 1, so be sure to apply ASAP! You'll need to be Covid vaxxed and boosted, with an updated flu shot, and TDAP vaccine. They're offering $32 to $35/hour and 35 hours/week minimum guaranteed. Please note that most weeks, you'll be working 40 or 45 hours per week, 35 hours is merely the minimum guarantee.
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
You have recent full-time experience working with a baby this age! The ideal candidate is loving, warm, and really engaging. You're also very professional and comfortable with a WFH parent, as Dad has a hybrid schedule. You'll also need to show proof of Covid-vaccinations and boosters, updated flu shot, and TDAP vaccine. As is the case with all other Smart Sitting positions, you'll also need to have your updated in-person CPR certification.
Schedule
Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4 or 5 PM
About the Children
Girl, 3 months old: The cutest baby girl! She has been sleeping through the night generally for the past few weeks; she goes down without much fuss around 7:30 or 8 PM, and then wakes between 6:30 and 7:30 AM. She primarily has bottles with pumped breastmilk, 3 ounces each feeding. The parents watch her sleep cues for naps, rather than a strict schedule. She has one long nap per day, and other shorter ones.
Responsibilities
All the baby things! You'll go through her whole daily routine of feedings, diapers, putting her down for naps, etc. It's important to them that they find someone really engaging, talking to her all day, and pointing out the whole around her. The ideal candidate loves working with babies this age and genuinely enjoys helping her with things like sensory stimulation, tummy time, or taking her on a walk and staying engaged with her while you do. She won’t contact nap much anymore, but might do a nap in the carrier, once a day at most. They're a no-screen household and while this is a Smart Sitting policy, want to be especially sure their nanny isn't on their phone during the day or showing the baby anything on a screen. They live in an elevator building so you won't need to worry about the stroller! Like any other full time baby role, household tasks such as sanitizing bottles and infant laundry are required as well.
Additional Information
You'll need to be Covid vaxxed and boosted, with an updated flu shot, and TDAP vaccine. As is the case with all other Smart Sitting positions, you'll also need to have your updated in-person CPR certification.
