FULL-TIME: one sweet 5-month-old girl in Forest Hills
Overview
This new Smart Family is looking for their first nanny! They are first-time parents and have a sweet baby girl. They live in Forest Hills, Queens, and would love to work with a Queens-based sitter, ideally. They're looking to get started in early May and are beginning to interview now so they can take the time to find the right fit. They are interested in working with someone who can help them with developmental milestones (introducing solids, crawling, walking, potty training) as the baby grows and somebody willing to work and communicate with them so they can establish regular routines, patterns, and consistency for their daughter. This is not a deal breaker, but if you speak Polish or Spanish, they'd love to meet you. Driving is also a huge plus. Most important though is finding a caring and attentive caregiver for their baby. It's $1200 to $1400/week before taxes, plus PTO, Sick Time, and a MetroCard. A tax free healthcare stipend can also be discussed as part of the overall compensation package.
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
Experience is the name of the game! Somebody who has newborn references, is up to date with TDAP and flu shots. Somebody who has the experience to work with first time parents, somebody who has clear, direct communication and doesn't mind them working from home, but can work with them to find the best times to visit the baby with the least amount of distractions. You must be comfortable taking the baby outside and walking around, taking the baby to classes. They're looking for a long-term nanny. If you're looking for a family to grow with, live in Queens, and love babies, this is the job for you!
Schedule
Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM The family is guaranteeing 40 hours/week
About the Children
5-month-old baby, girl.
Responsibilities
They would love to work with a nanny who can integrate into what they've established, but who can also make recommendations. For example, help getting the baby on a sleep schedule and regularly sleeping in her crib. Mom and Dad both work from home but on different days, so one of them will always be there. They understand and respect that this can cause disruption and want to actively work with the nanny on how to help integrate times when they can see the baby without it throwing the whole day off. They'd love for the nanny to also, when the time comes, find classes to take her to (once she's older!). For now though, regular walks around the neighborhood are definitely needed for stimulation and fresh air. This is a child focused position. They don't want somebody to clean their whole house! The regular tidying tasks will be appreciated and tasks that relate to the baby.
Additional Information
TDAP required, Flu shot required. Infant CPR certified required. This position is 100% on the books, no exceptions. Driving is a plus, Spanish or Polish is a plus. Starts early May 2025.
