FULL-TIME: Nanny for 3 kids on the UES, $87,000/year +

Overview

This lovely new family of five has had a wonderful nanny for the past six years and they are now saying good bye. The family consists of Mom, Dad and three kids, ages 7, 6, and 3. They also have a live-in AuPair and a housekeeper. They are looking for a highly experienced nanny who can run the household. Mom and Dad have very, very busy jobs and will look to you to manage all aspects of the kids' lives. In the summer, the family travels to Martha's Vineyard for 8 weeks. The nanny does not need to accompany them for the full schedule, but will look for the nanny to be there half of the time at least. The nanny must be able to drive and have a driver's license. You must be comfortable with the water and have the ability to save a life in the water, as a precaution. This position starts at $87,000 per year with room to flex up for experienced candidates. It includes a typical set of employment benefits like PTO, Sick Time, and a MetroCard. The family is happy to guarantee 45 to 50 hours/week. They ideally would like to get started very quickly, so apply today to be considered.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

This position is best for nannies that have a high level of self starting, organization, ability to think ahead. Candidates with at least 7 years of experience and confident in their abilities should apply. Experience working in staffed homes is essential, as you'll be working with their AuPair and making decisions around scheduling, logistics, and tasks for both of you to tackle as a team. You should have experience working with multiples. Candidates that have experience working in homes with 3 or more children will be prioritized. This is a very tidy household, so candidates that love to keep things organized and neat will do very well here! For the two older children, homework assistance is needed. At the moment, that help looks like a lot of reading and worksheets, so nannies that love grammar and language will find a nice fit.

Schedule

Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM/7:00 PM The family is happy to guarantee 45 to 50 hours/week

About the Children

Boy, 7: Nice and respectful but if pushed him too far, he can struggle emotionally. They would love a nanny who can work with him on his emotional and social skills. He's a very sweet and loving child. Girl, 6: Loves everyone, loves people! She's on the sunny side of life - open to all new experiences. Classic middle child. Girl, almost 3: Ms independent! She was walking at 11 months and started speaking full sentences at 1. This girl is special! She has her own way of living. She's a tiny little thing, in the 10th percentile, but you can find her climbing on everything. She thinks she is 6.5 years old! Biggest personality. She'll go to preschool in the fall, three days per year. She's allergic to nuts, soy, fish, peas and a lot of stuff, all of which has a lot of nuance to it. They manage this very well and are always in a trial and error process. She has an Epipen but they've only used it once.

Responsibilities

Their AuPair does the morning shift, getting the older kids ready for school and out the door. When you arrive at 9 AM, you'll be in charge of the 3 year old, taking her to classes, engaging with her, giving her meals and keeping her on a schedule. During the day, you'll also do laundry for the children and maybe some meal prep (currently the AuPair does the cooking). For school pick-up, you'll work with their AuPair, deciding who will pick-up who and get them to their after school activities or back home for homework. After dinner, you'll be in charge of most of the bath and bedtime routine. All deep cleaning is done by the house keeper, as is the parents' laundry. However tidying and keeping common areas very clean and organized is essential. You will still help with the dishwasher after meals, etc.

Additional Information

In the summer, the family travels to Martha's Vineyard for 8 weeks and would like the nanny to accompany them for at least half of the time, to be determined upon hire. You must have a valid driver's license and enough swimming ability to save a life in the water.
