Overview

This lovely family just had their first baby 7 months ago and she's a real cutie! Mom and Dad both have fun but travel heavy jobs and are looking for a nanny that can travel with them. When they're home in Brooklyn, the position is 25 hours/week, 10 AM to 3 PM. When they travel, they'll ask you to join them and the hours are full-time. For example, in May, Mom is required to be upstate for six weeks and would love somebody to accompany her and baby. Those would be full-time hours and then you would return and work 25 (or possibly 30 hours/week) once back in the city. You'll have weekends off so can travel home during those six weeks! They do have cats, so nannies allergies should not apply. This is just an ideal scenario! They're also open to meeting candidates who can only work with them Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 3 PM, when they are in the city. Tell us what would work best for you in your application! Feedback is crucial. They're looking to meet candidates that have experience working with infants over 6 months, that are fun, creative and playful. It's $35/hour ($875/week for 25 hours/week, more when traveling) plus benefits. All travel is paid. Driving is helpful but not required, though candidates with a driver's license will be prioritized. CPR certification required. They are looking to meet candidates now via Zoom and then get started with a trial-to-hire week on 4/21.

The Ideal Sitter for this Job

This would be great for somebody who has some baby and young toddler experience and is looking for a position that is different every day and every week! Somebody who has a more flexible schedule, would love to travel and work a lot of hours concentrated in a few weeks, and then return and work part-time while you relax and work on other life pursuits in the afternoon. With the baby, somebody who is comfortable with their style of following her cues and allowing baby to lead the way! Rather than a top down approach, this is a baby led approach.

About the Children

Girl, 7-months-old: They're just now starting to introduce solids. She has a dairy allergy. They read to her a lot and she loves it. They love singing to her! Mom wants to take her to music class, so that's an example of when you'd stay home, get a little break, and do some household tasks. They do not us screens in front of her. If they have to text or search for something, they do it another room. But of course, they occasional snapshot to send to them is totally fine!

Responsibilities

This is a hybrid role, where you'll toggle between working directly with the baby and helping Mom. Sometimes Mom will want to spend time with her, and in those moments, you'll be able to do tasks around the house. Sometimes, Mom will need to go out or focus on other tasks, and you'll be with the baby. This is a great opportunity for a team player that likes each day to look a little bit different. When traveling, Mom will be gone and busy with work for long hours and you'll be with the baby. They are not strict about anything when it comes to the baby, they like to follow her lead most days. She tells them what she wants! They do like to keep a regular bedtime though. She's still takes 2.5 naps for now but they're not sure how long that will go on.
